This forum has been really helpful, thank you very much! I'm in the process of filling out an online form and I'm an EEA citizen having been living in the UK for 7 years. One day, when I logged back in to the application to put more details about absences from the UK, this question wasn't there anymore. All my answers previously entered disappeared and the question as well. I thought it was a technical glitch, so I created a new account and entered all the information again until I reached the point where that question should appear, however it wasn't there and it took me straight to the question about absences from the UK longer than 6 months within one year.
Has anyone else noticed this? Does it mean that HO decided to withdraw this question from the application and now only asks for periods longer than 6 months?
Interestingly, they didn't update the paper PDF form and the question is still there...

Any thoughts? Thanks so much.
Has anyone seen my post from before and maybe encountered the same problem?
Thank you so much!

Hi,

When did you request your passport back and did you get your residence card back as well?

Hi all,

I'm non-eea national, applied for PR in October together with my spouse eea national, still waiting for PRs. One of my colleagues applied in December (the same case) and got everything last week. My colleagues' friend (also eea and non-eea application) applied in November and got all papers two weeks ago.

Fingers crossed!

All,

Just a quick update -

Wife (EEA National) applied for her PR in late December.
Payment was taken on 29/12

We did not receive a confirmation email or any other form of acknowledgement of the application.

However we just received her PR in the post this morning!

Less than 2 months for the whole paper route application, which is quite amazing and for which the HO deserves credit.

I am a non EEA partner, whose 5 year permit expires in mid May, so will be applying for my own PR afterwards.

Will post updates on the timeline of that application as well. I had originally assumed that it would take at least until the end of the year, but given the above timelines as well as the fact that my own initial 5 year residence permit came back in 2 months back in 2012, I'm hopeful for a hattrick of painless applications.

Is it normal for husband and wife to receive PR in separate letters while the application was done together?

We applied together (both EU), I was on the form as my husband's dependant. My husband got his PR today, and all his documents returned. My documents and marriage certificate are not there. No mention about me whatsoever...Will I get it later? Should I be worried?

Hi, can anyone help me with an example of letter for permanent residence please?
I would appreciate it. It doesn't matter the circumstances.
Thank you

This is a thread for EEA, so this was for EU/EEA route. I believe HO prioritises EEA applications over non-EEA, hence the shorter timeframe.

Hi,

I requested for it back 15 days after sending off my application. It took 3 weeks to get it back.

My resident permit was in my passport so I got it back aswel.

Hi Lyuda,
As I can see, you were applying as a non-EU citizen. I wonder of kind of card the PR will be printed on. Could you please kindly update us once received? Thank you.

Hello all,

After reading a few dozen pages on this thread, I decided to post my questions asking for some assistance and advice.

My wife and I are from Greece and moved to UK in Sept 2009 for postgraduate studies. We both had EIC's, but they expired on 31/12/2009 and didn't get a private insurance afterwards, as nobody told us we needed to do so.
I have been working from Sept 2010 until now for the same employer.
My wife continued with a 3-year PhD, funded by her uni, but without private medical insurance (again, we had no clue about it). She has been working from 1/1/2013 until now for the same institution.

We are now peer-pressured to apply for EEA PR's, so here are my questions:

1. The online application is asking for proof self-sufficiency and proof of studies for the duration of my studies. However, this is outside the qualifying period, which will obviously be the years of my employment. Do I still need to provide that?
2. I can add my wife to my online application, where no questions are asked about her studies/employment, just for proof we have been living together. Do you think it is safe to do that? Or
3. I should submit the application just for myself for now, while my wife can wait for another 10 months until she will have been employed for continuous 5 years, so she can apply separately?
4. In general, should we cover all the 8 years with supporting documents, or just focus on the qualifying period? By the way, there is no section in the application to define this qualifying period... How is it then defined?

Thanks in advance.
