Good day all!
I have two questions ref obtaining PR card as an EEA citizen and was hoping you can help. Here is my timeline and questions at the bottom.
Hungarian citizen (EEA citizen)
March 2010 till July 2011 - studying in the UK and have letter confirming medical insurance payments in Hungary (but no EHIC card)
Dec 2011 till Feb 2013 - working in the UK
Feb 2013 till July 2013 - studying but no letter ref comprehensive insurance from Hungary and no EHIC card
July 2013 till Sept 2013 – self employed
Sept 2013 till May 2015 - working

My questions are:
1. I don't have a letter from Hungary that I have paid insurance when I studied second time round Feb till July 2013. Can I say I was away from the UK that time? As far as I understand I will not exceed the 450 days limit in 5 years.
2. I will potentially get my PR in July 2015 (which is 6 month after obtained my PR automatically in March 2015). When applying for BC in March 2016 what document should I submit to confirm I obtained PR automatically in March 2015 as my actual PR will be dated July 2015?

Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I know I have to submit the photocopies of all supporting documents. However, could I just include some note for HO that I don't submit the photocopies of statements as they can keep the original statements from the last 5 years? I know they might have some rules but I will through it away anyway...

Hi all,
I just noticed this thread. My partner (EU National) sent his EEA-PR application on 4th April 2015. (Just a couple of days before the new biometric application came out. So he used the existing form (updated Jan 2015)
The timeline:
Application sent: 4th April 2015
Application received: 8th April 2015
Acknowledgement of receipt: dated: 10th April 2015
Payment taken: 13th April 2015
PR card: still waiting!

Basis of 5 years treaty rights:
3 years study (2008-2011)
2 years work (continues to work)
EHIC provided for all 5 years as he was paying social security in home country.
Sent originals of all documents along with photocopies.

All the best to those waiting/in the process of applying!! will keep you updated!

Hello. Can somebody explain how is better to fill in. The eea family - wife, husband and children have been living in UK more than 5 years. Husband the only was working and supporting the family.

How is better - to fill the form for wife as family member or as qualified self-sufficient person?

How is better for children to fill in the form as dependants under 21 (section 12) or as self-sufficient qualified persons (omit section 12)?

And can you answer please what will be written in pr document in the first case and in the second case (will they look different)? Maybe better for future naturalisation. And as I understand if uk comes out from Eu, all this documents become invalid.

Hi marzena273, as far as I know HO do not keep originals. It clearly says on the form that you have to send the copies of the original documents. HO would keep the copies and once they have verify the original documents you post them then they would send back your documents to you...If I were you I would not risk it...

kobytee wrote:Hello wonderful people
first if all my apologies if im not posting in the right forum...But i kindly need advice on my urgent situation as im confused.
I am a stepchild to a retired German Stepfather who got married to my mother about 4 and half years ago (2010) and I recently joined them (Stepfather and Mother) on a family permit In Jan 2015. My Stepfather has lived in UK since 2004 and got his Permanent card in 2011 but he stopped working in 2012 because he became blind. Now my mother is due to Apply for Permanent Residence in few months along with mine.
So I did some reading on the processes because i wasn't sure on the type of form i will quantify under.

1. Since my Stepfather is retired now and my their marriage has lasted almost 5years, should I apply for permanent residence as direct family member along when my mother is apply her's too Or apply residence permit and still have to wait till after 5years :?:

Because i read on the UK, EU regulations guidelines and it stated sometimes family members wont have to wait 5years in certain circumstances.

Thanks
Hi kobytee, based on the information you provided you cannot apply for permanent residence (EEA4) as you have not completed the 5 years period in the UK as a family member (as you are saying you have joined them recently)...

Hi all,
An update on my partner's application. My EEA partner (Greek) received his PR card today in the post.
The timeline:
Application sent: 4th April 2015
Application received: 8th April 2015
Acknowledgement of receipt: dated: 10th April 2015
Payment taken: 13th April 2015
PR card: received today 19th May 2015 (Dated 15th May 2015)

On the whole processing time was about 6 weeks (though taking into consideration it was the Easter break and a Bank Holiday between processing-so in all a good time span! :-) Hopefully should make our lives easier now)

Thanks for this great forum for all the advice-I'm sure I'll be needing more in the months to come!

Hello,

I am an EEA family member currently getting my PR application ready to send. Some sections are rather confusing. Could someone who has gone through the process help out? In section 5 where they ask you the date first entered the UK and to list your absences; are we really supposed to write every little holiday we had since entering the country? We both came as students in 2004, that's over ten years... and my sponsor doesn't get passport stamps so how is he supposed to remember? Also shouldn't this be about the relevant 5 year period that I have been on the family member residence card?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

asian_atheart, a very big congratulations!
Apparently EEA nationals receive their permanent residence cards rather quicker than non-EEA citizens. Have you also applied for PR card? I mean was it a join application? And if yes are you a non-EEA citizen, if I may ask?

Hi ankas, I was in similar situation too. It's almost impossible to list every single entry to the UK (especially for EU citizens). You just need to list the 5 years period no need to submit the entries between 2004 and 2010!

Me and my wife have gone through the passport pages and tried to list as many entries as we could...we basically tried our best but I am sure there were some entries missing. As long as you list most of the entries I am sure it's not gonna make an impact on your application as Home Office can see your and your partners' entries on their system...

Alternatively, before submitting your application you can actually request all the entries via https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... mmigration
I think it takes 3-4 weeks to receive full data...

Hope this helps...and good luck! Don't forget to share your timeline with us at later stages :)

Many thanks Forza_RC! I wish it was time for my PR! :-) No, this was 1) for my partner to easily apply for BC at some point. 2)to help in my (near)future application for a EEA RC-which we should do by the end of this year. Yes I'm a non-EEA national. Im still on a Tier 4 visa. We've been together over 3 years and and plan to get married. While we work out all other contingencies, we figured we might get part of the paperwork out of the way. I'm sure there'll be much more updates when we start that process ;-)

Some one else can explain more if they have experience...

Hi everybody, I'm going to fill form EEA(PR). I'm EU national, I'm in the UK since November 2005, my question is,
do I need to provide prove residency, work history etc. only for the first 5 years from Nov 2005 to Nov 2010, or I need to provide prove all years since Nov 2005 ?
Your help really appreciated,
Thanks

Hi zsozso1969,
You only need to send proof of exercising treaty rights for any continuous period of 5 years within the time span of 2000-2015. You need to be sure that during the selected 5 year period, you have no extended absences and insurance if necessary ( if you were a student/self-employed/not working). All the best with your application!
