Hi all - wanted to post my timeline for EEA (PR) so far. I'm Canadian and my wife is Spanish and we have been in the UK for 8 years, and have had two kids here (one three years old, one three months old). Have submitted a request for PR for all of us. Timeline for my EEA(PR) application is:

Application mailed: 4 Dec 2015
Delivered / signed for: 7 Dec 2015
Payment taken: 8 Dec 2015
Biometric letter dated: 23 Dec 2015
Email from UK Visas & Immigration confirming application and case number: 24 Dec 2015
Biometric info take at post office: 2 Jan 2016
Requested passports return: 18 Jan 2016

My current family member of an EEA citizen visa expires 25 Jan 2016, and I'm now slightly concerned that I will not be able to prove my right to remain / work here. Any ideas or guidance on how to contact the Home Office for guidance or to check on the status of my application?

Dear all,

I just found this website and I can not thank enough to the moderators and people who are posting here.
Extremely helpful. I am just making my first application ((except working permit I have never dealt with any applications)) for a Permanent Residence Card (PR) as a EEA nationality (Romanian) who has lived and worked in the UK for 5 years. I have a question and I would be grateful if you could advice me.
1. I would like to know if after submitting my application for the PR as a EEA nationality-Romanian I will be receiving a letter to give my biometrics. The reason for this is that I have booked well before a trip for 3 weeks in March and I need to know if I can submit my PR application before the trip or after. As the processing time is up to 6 months it matters every month. For me, its not clear from the PR form is I have to give biometrics or not. What do you think? Any EEA nationality who applied?
Many thanks!

Update from my post earlier this week, I now have my COA...

New question is as my current family member of a EEA citizen visa expires 25 Jan 2016, will I be able to travel (and re-enter!) the UK using my COA as evidence of right to work / right to live?

I've sent my EEA(PR) just a few weeks ago... I'd like to share my timeline with you and also I've a question as well.

It's an EEA application as I'm EU national.

PR application sent on: 07/10/2015
Account debited on: 09/10/2015
Email from HO: 19/10/2015

This is where I'm now... the HO's email says:
[...] Thank you for your application to the Home Office. Your application has been received and is being considered.

Hi!

Any updates?

Could you please let me know did you fill in the Biometric information for non-EEA nationals: form EEA(PR) part? I am a EEA national applying for the PR and I have to mention I never gave my biometrics . Did you receive the letter to go and give the biometrics of this is not applicable since we are EEA? I am really confused about filling in or not that form and these biometrics. I would appreciate your answer. Cheers and thanks

It may take up to six months to make a decision on your case. If we are unable to process your application within six months we will tell you as soon as possible. [...]
It also contains my case number and some other gov. links about the service standards, etc...

And my questions: I've seen here many of you got the the biometric enrollment letter after a week when the HO received the application. I still haven't received it but almost 2 weeks gone since they received mine one. Should I worry? Is anybody else get that information email from HO too what I get?

Thanks!

An update on my partner's application. My EEA partner (Greek) received his PR card today in the post.

Acknowledgement of receipt: dated: 10th April 2015
Payment taken: 13th April 2015

On the whole processing time was about 6 weeks (though taking into consideration it was the Easter break and a Bank Holiday between processing-so in all a good time span! :-) Hopefully should make our lives easier now)

Thanks for this great forum for all the advice-I'm sure I'll be needing more in the months to come!

Congrats! did you receive a letter to enrol your biometrics at any point? did you previously give your biometrics

EEA citizens do not have to enrol biometric information (it does say this in the application form, EEA citizens don't need to fill in the section about biometrics). The processing time is also much faster :)

Dear all,

I would appreciate your advice regarding the documents I have to submit as proof of Evidence of residence in the UK. On the form they require at least 2 documents for each address and in the guidance they give examples of the accepted documents but I don't have any of them.

I lived at 4 address and I have tenancy agreements only for 2 of them. In the other cases I lived with friends. Is it ok if I get a letter for each address from the the friend I lived with stating that I lived at that address and the period?

Also, I didn't have any bills on my names and unfortunately my bank statements were all online. I requested all of them from the bank but they will come with the current address printed on them. I went to GP and they said they can't give me any document confirming my address. I am really stressed about it.

I looked in all my documents and for one of these 2 address where I got letter from the friends I got a letter which came with my European Health Card and for the other address I have the online printed car insurance. What would you advice me to do? What should I submit or where else can I search for more residence documents?

Many thanks!

I`m an EU(dutch) national and all my family members.I ll apply for it as all in one within the same form,IS THAT right?? my family is ME,MY WIFE,2 YOUNG KIDS(7&9) and MY OLDER SON (21 YR).
I don`t have a registration card but I worked and lived here since July 2009(3 years as employee and 3 years as self-employer) and my family came to live with me since Aug.2010.
Questions:

...

I know its too many questions but it look likes I`m understanding the form wrong !! it ll be tons of papers with the copies of every original: work evidence/2 x residency evidence for every member of the family / benefit evidence.....
thanks for your help
It will be complicated (& you will have to add copies of certain pages) but you can all apply on 'one' form.

Your link is broken, this is the form:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _07-15.pdf

The form & guidance tells you which sections to complete.

The form advises what supporting documents will be required.
As sponsor it's mainly going to be all about your proof of exercising treaty rights.
For family members it's proof of their Identity & their relationship to you.
For adult son it's also about about showing dependency.

I do not think you can be compelled to answer questions about benefits.
(In fact you don't have to use that form at all in order to apply for confirmation of PR).

Good luck.
Hi noajthan
Can you please advice about my son,he was born 03/08/1994 which means he is 21 yr,so if he can apply with us on the application form ,then which section needs to be filled 12 or 13 ???
Sec. 13 is too complicated .actually im sending all the evidences about the study finance from the university and old school results before Uni.

Thanks for time

You only need to send originals. Keep a copy for yourself, just in case UKVI / post office lose them. It has happened.

I can't help with that I'm afraid, I used the EEA treaty rights route, so that's all I know about. There are many experts here though, so just wait and I'm sure you will get an answer soon :)

I'm an EEA and I'm using the EEA route as well
I think you mean you apply alone for the pr certificate ,while I'm applying as the main qualified and my family rely on me and in the same application.
So, did you sent the p60's and p40's(between jobs) or just the p60's???and fir the self employment is the tax calculation(sa302 filed form) and a letter from my accountant is enough???

Thx

Oh sorry, yes. I don't know about sponsors really, I was main and only applicant for mine.

For the proof of employment I sent P60's, one random payslip from each year, and a letter from my employer confirming my employment. I have been in the same job since 2007.

I think you will need to complete section 13 as your son is 21 or over.
(You will be the sponsor).

Hi All,

I have been a silent observer for a quite sometimes now. Well done to all who received PR! I am really happy for you.

I am about to start a joint application with my spouse and I have few questions with regards to the form itself. I will be the main applicant as I an EEA citizen and my husband is non EEA.

I know that we need to prove that I have been a qualified person for 5 years. Now, is it 5 years during any time of our marriage or is it 5 years before the application was made? For instance, if we got married in May 2009, can I choose to send docs that cover May 2009 - 2014 or do I need to send docs that cover 2011 - 2016?
And how do I let them know that I want my application to be based on te specific time?

Moreover, my employer does not provide us with payslips or p60. We can print them off whenever we want as they are available online. Will a printed p60 and payslips suffice for our application?
And does my husband also beed to send his payslips and P60?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I do not have much trust in HO helpline :)

You can use any continuous 5 year period where you were a qualified person, and this can be a mix of employment, student, self sufficient etc as long as it was continuous.

I suppose your husband will have to use a 5 year period during your marriage (like you say 2009-2014) if you are his sponsor.

You can write in section 9.13 telling them which times you want to be taken into account. However, legally you only need to provide evidence of exercising treaty rights for your qualifying period and nothing else, so it will be fairly obvious to the caseworker. Make sure you provide evidence of residency from the beginning of your qualifying period to present day (no need for everything since you entered the UK).

Not sure about lack of payslips or P60. You should probably get your tax office to print these, stamp them and include a covering letter from the secretary confirming they are genuine.

If you are sponsoring your husband I do not believe he needs to send P60 but I could be wrong.

Good luck :)

Cheers for a quick answer.

So in a nutshell,

I need to Prove that I was a qualified person 2009 - 2014 plus paylips from the past few months would do?

I will call HO and enquire if he needs to send his docs but I will probably send them anyway as last tme when I called I was told I need to cover just 3 years :)

Have a look at the guidance notes for acceptable documents. I went solely on 5 years in employment from 2009-2014 and I sent P60s for each year, plus 2 random pay slips from each year. I also had a letter from my employer confirming the dates I had worked there, on headed paper and signed by the boss. That should be sufficient for proof of exercising treaty rights.

For proof of residence, you should give a couple of utility bills / bank statements from each year. Bank statements can also be used as proof of employment if they show your wages being paid regularly (assuming your employer pays you via a method such as BACS direct credit).

Finally, don't take anything the UKVI advisers say on the phone as gospel. They frequently give out misinformation and get simple things plain wrong. It doesn't help that EEA/UK immigration law and the relationship between the two is quite complex.

There is a timeline thread too, so once you apply, let us know how you get on so others can get a good idea of the approximate time scales. The few that we've seen so far have taken around 7-8 weeks for EEA citizens. http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-ro ... 99775.html :)
