BRC expires in a month time got ILR

Dear Memebers

One of my friend got ILR unders EU settled scheme, he got his BRC card expires on 16 April, he would like to apply to get another card, his question is he need to renew BRC card ? or he has to apply for ILR BRP card? please need your advise. Thanks

BRC is for EUSS.

You need to replace your UK residence card if you plan to travel abroad and return to the UK and all of the following apply:

you would usually need a visa to travel to the UK but you have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme
