Are you in London? We received email on same date but have yet to receive it. Tried calling TNT yesterday but they had no record of it in their system

Hi, how long did it take after getting the email from APAD HO for you to get the actual card. I got an email from them today saying I will get my card within 7 working days. But the issue is that I’m travelling this weekend and I’m wondering if I can get it before then because the email states that my current EEA Brc have been cancelled and I need to send it back to them. I’m just wondering if it will take up to 7 working days to get the card or it usually earlier. Your prompt response will be highly appreciated. Thanks

No further updates? I'm still waiting for an application made in May 2021.

I just wanted to say:

1. No, the old EEA card does not get cancelled after the new EUSS card is issued. Read this post.
2. I don't think you need to send it back necessarily, since it is still a valid document, and still accepted by border officers. It just seems to me the Home Office sends a bunch of canned letters that misrepresent the truth (this in only my opinion, though).

Hi, did u get your replacment brp?

Do people receive any message from coriour on the day of delivery before they deiver??
As I explained earlier, I rescheduled the delivery for November, simply because that's when I'll be back home. The page did let me to book it that late (it allowed me to select a date until March 2022). I suppose we'll see if that works come the time.
Fresh update here: I just got my EUSS BRC delivered this morning by TNT, after two months of being issued and sent by the Home Office. No message warning me of it being delivered today, but I knew this by checking the status "Out for delivery" online.

Again, I scheduled a redelivery online and consciously picked a date way too far in the future (the website let me do it! I'm half surprised it worked, but it did) to allow for any future delays in my coming back to the UK and actually being home to receive it. So that's that done.

You should ask that question, with your full timeline, in the relevant place: british-citizenship/

Hello

I was recently granted Settled Status after having Presettled Status. I want to update my Presettled Status biometric residence card to a Settled Status one. Do I need to submit my biometrics again or can they reuse my fingerprints and photo from my Presettled Status card?

As fas as I know this depends on each applicant. The application system will tell you if you need to redo biometrics or not.

Hi
I have a question I got my pre-settled status on 23Mar2019. My EU BCR was still valid until Jul2021 so I didn't get a new card and wasn't aware I could change it to a UK residence card.

In Jun2021 I applied for settled status and got it on 14Oct2021. To this date I have not received a card.

I have reported that by residence card did not arrive but it's been 30 days and I've got no answer. I need to travel out of the UK in February and I'm concerned I may not be able to board because I can't really provide the airline with a valid residence documentation.

I have booked an appointment to swap my EU card for a UK Card and I'll give my biometrics next week. I am concerned whether they'll say that since my EU card is not valid then I cannot swap it.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Just to clarify, EEA Residence Cards, or EU BRC as you call it, is what the Home Office referred to as "UK residence card". See that it is no longer possible to get one: https://www.gov.uk/uk-residence-card
In Jun2021 I applied for settled status and got it on 14Oct2021. To this date I have not received a card.
That's normal, because purely applying or getting status does not automatically trigger the issuing of a new card, you have to apply explicitly.
I have reported that by residence card did not arrive but it's been 30 days and I've got no answer.
Again, normal, if you did not apply for one, you are not supposed to get one.
I need to travel out of the UK in February and I'm concerned I may not be able to board because I can't really provide the airline with a valid residence documentation.
Yeap, you need to get a card.
I have booked an appointment to swap my EU card for a UK Card and I'll give my biometrics next week.
That's basically the same as applying for a EUSS card, that's exactly what you need to do.
I am concerned whether they'll say that since my EU card is not valid then I cannot swap it.
There is no other way for you to get a card, so there is no legal basis to say that you need a valid one to get a new one.
Technically speaking, you are not really swapping your card, you are applying for a new one.

Thanks, I had no idea. In the pre-settle outcome letter I got from the Home Office it says: "Until 31 December 2020 you can also continue to use your current biometric residence
card to prove your status under EU law."

As it was Covid time and I couldn't travel I just waited until Jun2021 to apply for settled status. When I got the settled outcome letter last October it says: "If you do not currently hold a valid biometric residence card, you should receive your
biometric residence card within 10 working days of the date of this letter. More information
is included in the important information section below."

That's why I was so confused but thanks for clarifying. Where are you actually supposed to get that information on what to do next like applying for biometrics?

The Home Office wants to minimise how many biometric cards they issue, therefore they allow people with EEA Residence Cards to still use their old cards as much as possible. They decided that to know who has a valid card and who hasn't, it was enough to assume that those who applied through the app must have a card (because to use the app you need a card) and those who applied online+post did not have a card. Therefore, those who applied through the app do not receive a card, while those who apply online+post do receive a card. This is obviously a massive simplification of circumstances, but if you extrapolate to millions of people applying, it kind of more or less gets it right...

So... you had a valid biometric residence card when you applied, that's what counts. The fact that it expired between your application for Settled Status and your outcome letter does not "update" your circumstances to the Home Office. I guess because they never accounted for the fact that the outcome can take months to come! So you were condemned to not receive a card the moment you applied through the app.

You are not alone in being confused. A LOT of people here have read the line and skip the yellow part "If you do not currently hold a valid biometric residence card, you should receive your biometric residence card within 10 working days of the date of this letter.", so they interpret it as if it simply read "you should receive your biometric residence card within 10 working days of the date of this letter.", and are confused as to why they have not received a card (for which they have never actually applied).
Where are you actually supposed to get that information on what to do next like applying for biometrics?
To be honest I knew it because I come here every day. I agree, the outcome letter tells you nothing about it.

Thanks a lot! At least we can all apply for citizenship a year after getting settled status and forget about the Home Office.

Hi, May I ask you if you paid for exchange service? It sounds very fast. I have passed my documents and biometry 7.01 but still haven't recived an feedback. I am a bit confused because I have applied FOC but also saw diffrent links on gov uk with options to pay 56£ and express for 150-500£. Now I am a bit worrie that I did something wrong. I have tickets booked for the fly withing 2 weeks - need to leave contry because of medical reasons but I am afraid, I will have to move my jorney...

Hi everyone,
I wanted to know if there's anyone else in my situation.
Non Eu with settled status applying for new Eu settlement scheme card after my Uk Residence card had expired.
I done my biometrics on 26 of November and I haven't heard anything back since.
I'm surprised because now the application site says the application costs £56 but when I applied the application was free of charge.
It's making me wonder if I have done something wrong.
Is anyone else in the same situation?
Is there a way to contact UKVCAS or Home office regarding the time my application is taking because to my understanding it should be issued within 8 weeks, and it's been 2 months and a half.
Thank you

If it's of any consolation, my card was issued 4.5 months after biometrics. No explanation whatsoever.
