When I applied for a settled/pre-settled status application and was granted a settled status back in Septembers, I received an email from home office confirming that my application is concluded and out come of application is attached with email (A PDF file) letter, in which they confirm I have been granted settled status and ………... and in that letter it also said the following

"Your status takes effect from the date of this letter, which can be found above."

on top of that letter, there was the date
Do not ever delete that email then :D

:) I do agree it, I guess even in that letter it was advised to print the copy of it and keep it save for future references , anyone who have been granted a settled/pre-settled status under EU settlement scheme must have received that email if the did the application online, if they did paper application then they would get a BRC with new status anyways.

Hi All

Just to let you guys know the update, I received the letter from home office late afternoon today advising me that I'll be getting my new card in 7 working days (which ofcourse I already got) and that i'll need to send the old one back and it is now cancelled, it answer to the question one of the member have asked before and I was looking for too,

Q: can you travel while you waiting for new upgraded BRC application to process ?
Answer is, No, as when the application got process and new card is issued the cancel the old BRC same time.

Date on the letter and on my new BCR is same, its now clear that due to the royal mail normal post, I got the latter bit late but card comes quick due to the quick courier service.

I'll be sending my old card back to them tomorrow.

I hope it help the other members.

Thank you all again for sharing all the information.

Kind Regards
Ar

Hello Ar

I want to ask when you got your new card. Did it write like settled status on the card?

why they ask if a person want to go ahead with the application?

So who ever recieved his new card did you change your identity document on settlement scheme website?
Did you send your new card as it adviced to do so if you got new card ?
Or they automatically changed it on online status?

It doesn't cost any money to exchange your card
When you follow the link and do your online application you will receive email from the Caseworker asking you if you would like to go forward for your application if you confirmed that you don't want to proceed then your application will be cancelled and you will get letter confirming that..

Hi, this is just to enquire about changing EEA BRC to EU settlement. Before updating the card, can I apply to EU scheme through the mobile app (with my BRC considering I'm non-EU). If so, how long does the process take? I assume they will not take my passport again, so perhaps I can travel?

Can anyone advice me on this?

@Fbiboy2002 here is the link: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-a-uk-resid ... rd/replace.
Please note what it says:
'Get a replacement residence card
You need to get a replacement if your card is lost, stolen, expired or damaged.
You can either:
reapply for your residence card
reapply for your permanent residence card
It costs £56.'
