Thank you dear Rose. I've already done that. I want to cancel it since it is not mandatory and I can still (I think) use my old card.
I applied because of name change only - I wanted a new EEA BRC with a new name. Vanity.

hello

When I replace my BRC card under UK law to the EU settlement scheme BRC card.

Will I have to send my new card to home office as mentioned on settlement scheme website for home office to update?

Or will home office automatically change it on online status?

Hey rose! Postoffice does not take biometrics anymore you have to book appoinment with sepor sietra to get your biometrics done so even if you go to post offive they wont take you biometrics. As i asked the question from the staff when i went to give my biometrics the lady there told me that homeoffice has given the contract to sepor sietra which the company who collects biometrics on behalf of homeoffice. I hope that clears your thought process about biometrics and kills your need of being curious thankyou!

I am planning to do mine but I got travels in August
I heard it takes 8 weeks or even more.
when did you make your application?

Also When I replace my BRC card under UK law to the EU settlement scheme BRC card.

Will I have to send my new card to home office as mentioned on settlement scheme website for home office to update?

Or will home office automatically change it on online status?

I have got no idea but as mentioned in the post earlier that one person got it in 7 weeks and the other got ut in 5 weeks and i applied on 26 november and submitted my bioemetrics on 29 november so technically from the date of applying its my 6th week so let see how long my card takes. Plus after you get the card homeoffice send you a letter saying that you have to send your old card to them back cut in two pieces i hope that answers your curiosity plus aughust is too far i recommend you apply for the card ASAP coz you cant trust the tories they can change their mind like uk weather so do the applcation ASAP dont delay do it today if you can hopefully will get it in 8 weeks time of not 5 or 7 weeks. Thankyou

We have to update our identification card on settlement scheme online status as it doesn't update automatically...
I have sent mine to be updated two days ago...
It might take up to 5 working days to be updated

After you done with your application and go for step 5 to pay 0 fee and submit your application it redirect you to step number 6 as I remember was further action and you will find a page where you will be able to download your application if you want and book your biometric through sopra steria...
Plus after you submit your application you will receive an email confirming that you submit your application and link to return to your application to book biometric appointment with sopra steria..

To update your Identification card you have to go to this link
https://www.gov.uk/update-eu-settlement-scheme-details

And follow the steps with your old card and choose the option of changing identity document
Then you will find a pdf file with two pages you have to enclose the second page and leave the box below blank if you want your card sent back on your address you used when you done the settled status
If you want your card sent back to different address you have to write it down into that blank space on that second page
So you enclose that page with your new card and send it to the address shown on the first page on that pdf file

@fbiboy

I agree with Michele..They are the one giving us the new card. so they should update it and they expect us to wait for our brc card and again post it to them to update.

I hope they return your card as that will give me the courage to send my card to them

I have no idea why is that...
Maybe the home office want to make sure its us who have the access to the online application and responsible to make our information is up to date... maybe its only about security and stopping fraud from happening
It's just my guessing...

Hi

I just want to know as we will send our settled status brc card to home office to update. Do we have to also send our passport to home office to update when it expires and a new one is issued?
