Hi Rose2019

Sorry to disturb you. i got the letter on 24/02/2020 saying the card will arrive in 7 working days but i have not received it until now.
i dont mean to panic. How did the card arrive for you? is it royal mail ? were you at home? or did they leave a missed you card and you went to collect.

thanks

@fbiboy2002

I have sent today my new biometric card to be updated by home office. In how many weeks did you get yours back?

@Rose2019
Why do you need to update it? Doesn't it already say "EU settlement scheme..." ? I try to understand why a new card needs to be updated. Change of circumstances?
I got mine, sent the old one back by freepost to be destroyed, because it has already been canceled…

@NatCam

This is what the EU settlement Scheme reply to me when I emailed them

If when you applied, you did not use the your EEA Biometric Residence Card as proof of your identity, you will not need to do anything.

If you have applied to the EU Settlement Scheme and been granted your status using your old EEA Biometric Residence Card. When you obtain your new card, you should update your details online and send in your new identity document for verification.

Just update your new card. It says the specific address to send it

Yeah will do but it is just an email they put on the letter. the letter was dated on 24/02/2020 but until now i have not seen anything. Not even a missed you card from DX courier so i can contact them. Monday will be the 10th working days.

I am pretty desperate i have to travel end of the month, does anybody encountered this issue before please?.

Dear All,

I wanted to share some status details and had a few questions. We had applied to upgrade the BRC for my wife from EEA Family member to EU Settlement Scheme “Pre-Settled” status.

Following was our timeline:
Online application submitted: 13th January 2020
Biometrics: 20th February 2020
Home Office email received asking for consent to proceed with application: 20th February 2020
Home Office letter received saying that BRC has been updated will be delivered within 7 working days: 13th March 2020
Home office letter dated: 11th March 2020

In view of the above, I had the following questions:
- We need to send back the old BRC only after we get the new BRC right? Or do we need to immediately send back the old BRC after getting this home office letter?

- The old BRC needs to be sent to the following address, right?

Freepost RRYX-GLYU-GXHZ
Returns Unit
P.O.Box 163
Bristol
BS20 1AB

- While applying for the pre-settled status, we had given my wife’s passport as the identity document and not her old BRC. So, the online pre-settled status is linked to her passport. In this case, we don’t need to send back the new BRC again to the Home Office EU Settlement team right for records update?

- Typically how many days does it take from receiving the letter to getting the new BRC?

Thanks.

Hello anmax

Are you sure of the dates?

Because I had my biometrics on the 10th of Feb and I have not heard anything at all

I submitted application 1st of Feb done biometrics on 10th Feb nothing at all came to me .. no contact

You done biometrics on 20th fab and for the confirmation letter already?

Wow

Hi Hanihani,

The dates are correct. I think it also depends when you made the online application.

In our case, there was already a big gap between the online application date (13th January) and the biometrics date (20th February).

So, basically we got a mail from home office on 20th February which is approx 6 weeks from the online application date. This is the mail where they asked for consent to go ahead.

So, since your gap between online application and biometrics date is too short, I would suggest to give more time.

Kind Regards

Hi Rose2019,

I assume you got the new BRC through DX post?

Did you get any tracking number etc from DX for this post or did it directly arrive?

Thanks.

Kind Regards
