Hi everyone,
My wife has applied to change her brc from EEA family member to EU Settlement and she has her Biometrics appointment just after New Year.
However she'll have to change her Passport (non-EU) in a few months as it expires. Does this mean that she'll need to apply AGAIN for a new Residence Card after receiving the new passport?
Thank you.

Residence card is a separate document from your wife's passport and it doesn't matter if she is renewing her passport.

Hi all,

It seems finally we understand that all residence card holders should change their card by 30rd June 2021.

What's the timeline for this? they put 8 weeks, but it is a home office and it takes sometimes longer.

Hello,
I had a question any advise would be appreciated. When we return the old cancelled brc in an envelope do we simply send it whole uncut or cut it in two halves? The letter I received says to just send back to be securely disposed but I'm a bit nervous doing that of sending it back as an intact document. Has anybody returned the old brc back without cutting it ?

Hi,

I had taken my biometrics on the 12th of December to swap my EEA issued BRC which is valid until June 2023 to EUSS BRC and received an email from HMRC to say that my application has been submitted to the appropriate team on 14th December. I am planning to travel out of the country at the end of this month. Does the above mean that we can still travel out of the country with the old BRC card issued under EEA terms until 30th June 2021? :?:

Guys, can you tell what are the documents they ask for when one applies to change the card? (apart from BRC itself and probably passport)
Proof of address? Anything else?
What do they want as proof of address? Would GP letters be enough?
We have the case of old dependant with settled status and PR BRC who lives with children (no house bills, council tax, or DL)..

Hi,

I had provided them with 3 months of bank statements, BRC Scan, self declaration form and Driving licence Scan just to be on the safe side.

When you book the appointment make sure to carry your passport, BRC and appointment confirmation letter.

I had to re-do my face photo and the biometrics which cost me £136.99 SMS notification included even though the cards free and this is just a BRC swap just to reflect the EUSS status on my card (All payments were done at the time of the appointment booking online).

Hi Desi Boy any news on your EUSS BRC swap? and when are you travelling?

If you look at the post above where Anita2000 says that You can travel till 30.06.2021 if your card is not expired. Does this mean that we can travel with a EEA BRC while the new one is still under process?? :?:

Hi

I believe you can travel while waiting for EUSS

This is entry requirements https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visiting-th ... t%20Scheme

You probably under this category:
If you’re a non-EEA family member of an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen
You need a valid national passport, and one of the following:

an EU Settlement Scheme family permit
a UK-issued EEA family permit
a UK-issued biometric residence card
You cannot use an Article 10 or Article 20 residence card issued by an EEA member state.

Letter from GP was on the list as a proof of address so you should be fine

Dear all,

I need to know whether I can travel outside the UK after submitting biometric appointment for the replacement of EUSS card and if they do take your old permanent residence card from you on that day? I already have settle status online.

Thank you all in advance!

Hi,

I have just received my new BRC card after a wait of 3.5 months from the application date. However, my question is the new BRC card I received under EUSS issue date 01.01.2021 does not have a visible biometric chip on the backside of the card. Has anyone been issued with a new card in Jan 2021 notice this change in card layout ? I assume the new cards have a chip embedded inside ?
I am a bit nervous, can anyone who received a Jan issued replacement card confirm this. The card I have is an ILR

Hi All, I’m thinking of applying now for replacement of the card. Can you please advise if your passports/existing BRC cards were sent away to HO during the whole process? Or they are only checked at fingerprints appointment?

Hello everyone, l am new here so please help me
I am so confused  my brc will expire on the 25th of May 2021. I have a pre settled status. I want to transfer my brc to a brc euss. I have read that it might take up to 4 months to get the new card.
So l can't decide when would be the best time for me to travel to uk to apply for this . I am not willing to travel because of the pandemic and the tier4 in uk but if l have to l have to.
Am l already too late? When would be the latest l should apply?
Thank you very much

You will break your continuous residence, and your future eligibility for Settled Status, after 6 continuous months outside of the UK.
You will lose your Pre-Settled Status after 2 years outside of the UK.
Act accordingly.
