I just received my EUSS biometric card due to an exchange from the old one. I was meant to return the old card but am yet to do so, because I updated my online status with my new card. How long does it take for my new card to be updated online? And should I return my old card back to the home office now or do so when my new card has been fully updated? Should I return my card cut or uncut?

Hi, I had to send my new card to them for updating the online status. It's been a week already I haven't received my card back. I still haven't sent my old card back, I'm waiting for the new one to be returned back. I was told by the eu settlement person not to cut the old card just send as it is. Its cancelled anyway so no worry. Have you sent your card to them to update the online status ? If yes how long did it take to get your card back ?

You don’t necessarily have to send your new card to them. You can do the update online and await them to complete the request.

Hi everyone need an urgent info regarding a BRC please, my brother has been granted a BRC under family member of a union citizen, and on the back of card it says EU RIGHT TO RESIDE, this card has been issued last week and it's only valid till 30/06/2021, don't know why it's valid only 6 months, my solicitor said you'll need to apply for Eu settlement scheme with this card and they will send you a new card probably for 5 years when you're granted a pre settled status.
I was apply for Eu settlement scheme online and obviously being a non EU citizen my brother got this BRC card as a close family member on behalf of my father and the system asked to enter my father's name and unique EU pre settlement status ID.
PLEASE let me know if I'm doing the right process for the Eu settlement scheme or i have to do through this link in the first post. I'm almost at the end of the process and the system is asking me a proof of address and relationship (birth certificate) , these documents we submitted with previous application and they sent us BRC, don't know why they are asking again. Probably they will ask to enroll for the biometrics again 😳.

Please some one let me know if this is the right procedure or is there anything else we have to do. Thanks 😌

Hi there,

I submitted my application on the gov.Uk website for the replacement of my BRC card to the EUSS card. It says that I need to book an biometric appointment by the 1st of February 2021 but the earliest available is on the 18th February as of today. Could you please advise whether I should just go ahead and book it for the 18th of Feb or submit a application on gov.Uk again once it has passed the date of 1 February 2021?

Thanks in advance!

I called the EUSS resolution centre. Because when I used the online site, it said to post my card to them. So to make sure I called them up. The lady over the phone said I have to send it to them via post and that they will send the card back to me after verification. So I did as told :) I wonder why did not have the option to update my card online that's strange!

To everyone who is waiting for a long time to get the replacement BRC ( Conversion from old EU BRC to new EUSS BRC). I read from the old posts that someone has sent a chaser email on the original consent email received from APAD and they received the decision letter in 2 days. I took a chance and did the same. Now i start to think its no more a chance and its actually doing something because i sent an email on the back of the APAD email asking about the status of my application. I received a standard reply that they are working on it on date basis and its delayed because of covid-19, etc, etc. However within 3 working days, i received the decision letter (today) stating that i will receive my card in 7 working days. So i guess the chaser email is working indeed. I have waited for a long time. Probably best is to wait for 2 months and if its taking more than 2 months then this email can be tried.
I submitted my application in mid Sep 2020 and did my biometrics in mid oct 2020. so its been more than 4 months since my application submission date. waiting for my BRC in post now.
