Applied 9/01 for the replacement
Bio appointment - 5/02
E-mail from APAD confirming they issued new card and I shall expect it within next 7 days - 26/02

My current EEA card is valid till 30/06.
Card received 03/03.

Hi thank you for letting us know, could you please share your timescale? I received the email saying that my card should arrive within 7 days on last week Friday, still waiting for it.

Well, that was the smoothest experience so far!

The timeline you quoted is mine. My email also came in last Friday (26/02) second part of the day and I’ve got my card today.

No idea tbh. It was a guy in unbranded small Vauxhall car, I named myself and he checked surname matched the envelope. No signature or ID required.

Hello guys,

Once the new replaced card is received, do we have to update it with digital status?

Thanks

Yes, if your online status is linked to the old BRC.

Hi,

Did you return your old card soon after you got an email to do so, or after the new card was delivered to you?

Thank you

Hi all, could anyone advise please - my wife applied to exchange her RC to an EUSS card back in November I believe (biometrics done around that time). We’ve heard nothing since.

Anyone in a similar position?

She has tried contacting the HO, but they don’t seem to have a clue about what’s being asked of them. Their incompetence is unbelievably frustrating, I must say.

I only returned it once I received new card. However, the email says that the old one is already canceled, so maybe was zero sense in me waiting for the delivery

Yes, I read a few posts with people in a similar situation. We are as well in that position.

There is a theory that this could be due to the expiry date of the existing RC we hold. It seems recently that home offices responded to two persons here to confirm this.

What is the expiry date of your wife's resident card? If it's in 2022, you may need to wait longer than average.

Thank you for sharing. Her card’s expiry date is in July 2023. I’ll give it few more weeks maybe, but this is becoming very annoying. A simple job taking months.

I have been granted settled status in june 2020.
Now i m applying to change my old EEA RC to new EUSS RC.

Please advise me which option I need to tick?

Option (1)you want to upgrade your BRC issued under the EEA regulations to a BRC issued under the EU Settlement Scheme

Option (2) you want to change from a pre-settled status BRC to a settled status BRC issued under the EU Settlement Scheme

Silly question: What's the best technique to find Sopra Steria appointments at all? Everything is booked!!! Anyone has managed to crack when appointments get released?

OK, never mind, I just found this:

https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/flash-message- ... geId=74833
At the moment, new appointments are released 28 days in advance. Our booking calendar shows 4 weeks of appointments with a new date added each day, offering a mix of free and chargeable appointments so do keep on checking back. Free appointments do get booked up very quickly so you may need to book a few weeks ahead to find the right appointment for you.
Trick is to find what time this happens, and be at the ready. Is this midnight? 8:00 AM? I guess I will find out tomorrow.

@Cullinan has a great guide here british-citizenship/biometrics-appointm ... -2400.html

Midnight release are paid ones.

I got a free appointment at 8am on the 4th day trying. Couldn’t believe my luck and eyes. I had tried for 3days then one day at exactly 8 there were like 20 free appointments at a core centre in Birmingham. Got mine next Monday.
