DX Delivery

Post by filser_80 » Tue Feb 26, 2019 3:58 pm

Hello,

I'm sorry if this question has already been asked. I am a EU citizen and almost 2 months ago we applied for RP for EU family members for my wife and 5 y.o daughter.

Today we found two landing cards from DX delivery and I contacted them to see what this was. They told me it's from the Home office and that there is one parcel for my wife and one for the daughter. No problem so far. This is hopefully the 2 BRP's.

Now what makes this situation awkward is that they told me (DX delivery) that my wife will need to provide the daughters Proof of ID when receiving the parcel. The problem is that the only ID the child has is her passport which most likely is in one of the parcels? DX delivery didn't have any good answer to this but told me to ask Home office to authorise my wife to receive the daughter's parcel? I called Home office and they said that they can't do nothing on the help line and that I will need to send a letter to the Home office and ask them to do this?

This seems very odd and this can't be the normal procedure when a minor applies for a Residence permit. My thought is if not all the documents are in the parcel which is in my wife's name? This would solve the problem as she could then receive her parcel which would contain the child's passport and then use this to collect the child's parcel. If you see my point.

But I have no idea as I've never encountered this. Could anyone please advise me what the best thing to do is in this situation? Hope my message is clear, sorry if it's not.

BRP cards are sent by Courier. Supporting documents are usually returned by post.

Oh. Thank you very much. Would you know how it works now when DX has said that they won't deliver the daughters parcel until Home Office has told them to? Very strange.
