EEA Family Permit on Visa4UK

Post by alexis6787 » Fri Jul 04, 2014 4:36 pm

Hello,

I am planning on joining my boyfriend in the UK on the VA5 EEA family permit. We are in a committed three year relationship and we can easily prove this. He is French and I've been advised to apply for this permit. I've tried to apply twice now on Visa4UK but after scouring the applications and spending hours at a time after finishing them I am told that the visa fee is $1500. Isn't the visa supposed to be free? Am I applying for the wrong visa? I am unsure which visa I am supposed to apply for on visa4uk. The only place I found anything about EEA family is under "Other" for reason for visit and then "EEA family member" under Visa type and then "Family member of EEA national" Under sub Visa type. What am I missing here? Where do I apply on Visa4UK for the EEA family permit that is free and the one I've been advised to apply for?

Thank you for any help you can provide,
Alexis

Hi, I just recently applied for eea family permit and its free of charge. Some visa application center will ask u to pay 74euros for using the center but thats it, nothing more. I think you clicked the wrong visa form.

You should be applying for the OTHER-EEA FAMILY MEMBER-FAMILY MEMBER OF EEA NATIONAL. This is correct and it is free.
