4 months total processing. EEA2

Post by Sugarbowl » Thu Dec 23, 2010 8:07 pm

Hi,

Just thought I'd post this for everyone's benifit. Here is my story.

EEA2 application sent - 30th July 2010
EEA2 Application received by UKBA - 31st July 2010
CoA received - 25th August 2010 (Letter Dated 18th August)
Called UKBA to recall passport for travel - 13th Sept
Passport received - 17th Sept (Received with a letter stating that the Passport need not be returned unless asked for by UKBA)
Called UKBA to check status - 12th Nov (was advised that it was in final stages)
Called UKBA to check status - 2nd Dec (was advised that a decision has been made and documents will be received shortly)

5 Years residence endorsement received on 21st December (With letter dated 30th November)

The endorsement is on an A4 paper instead of the passport which is perfectly normal because my Passport currently has a Tier 1 Visa which is valid till Aug 2012 (I work in the Financial sector). Before anyone asks, the reason I applied for a residence via the EEA route as it makes it easier to set up business, work without limitations etc.

Tip. If you are confident, and are yourself convinced that all your documents are in order, and you are not playing foul, you WILL get the residence visa.

Tip 2. Write a crisp covering letter with a list of all the documents that you are submitting, number each document, and explain in the covering letter if there are any translations attached. If the bank statements are not original, but obtained from a Branch, please explain. In other words, you need to be smart enough to assess your own application and foresee the points that the UKBA would need clarification on.

Merry Christmas everyone and All the very best to those waiting.

I think they stop COA ( Certificate Of Approval for marriage) not the Certificate Of Application for RC. But I am still not sure, If anyone receive Certificate of Application (COA) very recently please let us know.
Thanks

Today I phoned Home Office to inquire what was happening with my case one the representatives told me you would be getting your documents with in next couple of weeks. Now here I want to ask if they can refuse or they would issue the RC as I & my wife still works & I provide all necessary documents.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks.

I phoned them on 13th of December but still haven't got anything yet. I really don't know how much time they would take as it is more than two weeks now. Any suggestion or piece of advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, a-jan-a

Santa brought you a great x' mas present, that's great. Congratulations.
Your hubby still will need a Schengen visa to go to other EU countries, which is very easy to get anyway.

Iwas worried because most of the people in here got their COA after almost a month or so. Do you think I'm qualified for the initial 3 months rule to reside as wife of an eea national? so I can talk to my employers, even if they won't allow me to work after my visa expires but just to satisfy them to keep the job for me until such time i recieved my coa. Thank you and hoping to enlighten me.
> Called the liverpool office today. they said once married, I automatically have the right to reside in the UK as a wife of an EEA national execising his treaty rights; this is just for married couple and is different if your applying under unmarried partner. Since it will take about 4 wks before they can issue a COA upon receipt of the application, my employer should just keep a copy of my marriage certificate as evidence of my relationship with my husband, while they're processing for the COA to be issued.

Today I called Home Office & asked about my case, they told me that they have posted all my documents few days before Xmas & hopefully I would be getting very soon. I am bit impatient & want to know what has happened with my case if I have got RC or not.
