September application - finally got RC!

Post by alongtime » Wed Jan 19, 2011 11:17 am

Sept 7 2010 : sent application (and kissed our passports goodbye)
Nov 5 2010: CoA - finally!! although it was dated Sept 9 2010
Jan 19 2011: RC!!!!!!

total: 4 months and 11 days. I didn't contact them for any reason.
I am married to my EU partner, and our application was fairly straightforward.

What a relief! I hope everyone will get theirs soon - waiting is not fun!

My RC was issued on January 4.
(I'm not sure why it took until the 19th to arrive via Special Delivery..)

Therefore:
Sept 7 2010 : sent application (and kissed our passports goodbye)
Nov 5 2010: CoA - finally!! although it was dated Sept 9 2010
Jan 19 2011: RC!!!!!! dated January 4 2011

EEA2 Processind times

Post by ylpopper » Wed Jan 19, 2011 5:47 pm

HI!
I applied on Sept 2010 for an EEA2. Still waiting. For the Residence Stamp I waited 11 months, and when I got my passports back I only had 2 weeks left to fill again another application before the Residence Card expired. This time I don't really want to suffer that much. I see that everybody said they called and get responses about the status of thair application. I phoned UKBA lots of time when applying for RS and they told me nothing, also wrote mails, and nothing. Can someone post the telephone number we have to calll to ask about the status of my appliction.
Thank you.

Hi, I saw this and that's great I would like to know where are u from and where is your husband from, because i sent my application on 02/12/2010, and not COA receive yet, and something else that i'm worried about is that my passport expired this january 22th 2011, if someone else can tell me if that represents a problem it would be very helpful...
Thanks

Could you post the phone number you are calling? I have tryied to reach UKBA to the " european cases" phone line, but it is just a machine and when they answer, they tell me they cannot give any info by phone.

Thanks.

When did you receive EEA1? Because me and my husband applied for EEA2 & 1 on November. But until now, my husband still has not received his EEA1. Is that normal? I thought there was a 21 days rule for EEA1.

For us:
Application received by HO on 29/09/2010.
Received COA on the 29/10/2010 (issued on 20/10/2010).

Called HO this afternoon (for the 1st time) to ask the status of our application and I was told our file had been sent back on 21/01/2011. The girl told me it normally takes 7 days to be delivered.

Fingers crossed. Good luck to everybody!

Hi guys,

See below the details of my RC
-Application sent 19/09/2010
-Received short version of COA on 9/10/2010
-Requested my partner and daughter EEA national passports back on 12/01/2011
-Decision was already made before my request to send the passports back is received by HO
-Received my RC stamped on 7/01/2011 in my passport due to expire next month february

So in total just less than four months.

Your passport is expiring next month? You will have to re-apply for a new RC with your new passport?

It's no problem with the UK as you just carry both passports with you when travelling. It's unlcear, however, how that may work with other countries and embassies.
