What is "the timescale set out" in the latest letter? In other words when are they telling you to submit the answers by? Also, when did you receive the second questionnaire?

The second questionnarie was dated from HomeOffice 22. september, we received 30. september. We have to return it within 14 days. My husband thougt that it does not matter to return it because we got refused 01. october. I was on holiday in Norway and I did not see it until today. I think today was the last day to returned

I think it is pretty clear what happened. You had to return both questionnaires, and for some reason they did not wait for the second one and just refused your application. I would fill in and send the second one, with a cover letter explaining that you actually only received it on Sept 30th, and pointing out that they did not wait for the second one before refusing your application.

Right now you really have nothing to lose.

Nora, have you sent them any letters for reconsideration (with you UK marriage certificate) or pre-action protocol letter? Or, have you decided not to do it? If not, what are you planning to do, lodge an appeal? I don't think this second questionnaire matters at this point.

Or maybe send whatever action/letter/appeal WITH the second questionnaire? For the sake of not leaving any excuse for the HO to reject them again.

You were the last one who got an approval letter, and it's been a week already. Nobody else got anything since then, neither an approval letter nor an RC. It's been strangely quiet all week... Hopefully, you'll get your RC within a couple of days.

Yeah, why not, send them the questionnaire too. Generally, I agree that the more you send them the better. But you have to organise everything super-neatly and in such a way so as not to confuse them. They seem to be easily confused and discombobulated and bamboozled...

My husband had applied for asylum 3 years ago before we were married and he delivered a valid passport to the Home Office at the time. Home office have never sent back his passport .

Hi nora_804, I have been following your post and can only sympathize with you.
With reference to your earlier post, I think previous immigration history may have affected your husband's application. It is on the basis of the information you provided that I ask: What was the outcome of the initial asylum application?
I understand that HO withhold passports when an application is denied/refused. If this was the case, did your husband appeal that decision?

Pre-Action Protocol Letter, as I understand it, is basically an official letter for reconsideration where you say "you made a mistake here and here and if you don't correct it I will appeal". If you are going to appeal through a solicitor, he will write it. All the details about it and where to send it (email and postal address) are here: http://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/proced ... l/prot_jrv

Hi voxnihili

Great! I will update the timeline tomorrow including this. Please also note that you have two separate case IDs, one for your husband one for you, likely consecutive numbers. At least that's how it was for us.
