Why did you decide to withdraw the old application instead of just simply updating them about your new status as being married?, did your solicitor advise you as such?

They probably are treating your old application as being updated to married status and hence why they didnt take any payment for the "new" application you sent.

If you are married then you are allowed to work as the spouse of an eea national exercising treaty right, you might want to ask HO to send you a COA which confirms your right to work.

Hi , I was looking everymonths this forum.
I had finally my RC , but my passport is not returned.

Application sent: 15/07/2015
Biometrics letter received and sent : 25/08/2015
COA received : 20/09/15
RC: 10/12/2015

RC has sent by DX.
I wasn't in the house, so I received letter from DC to redelivery.
But DX said 'they can't redelivery me, because my address is not collect.
Yes, just I didn't put ' FLAT 3 ' , DX refused resend me.

I called them, I said 'normally I receive all letter whit my address without FLAT3 even the letter from Home office and your letter also.'

But they said ' No, we need permission from Home Office to change new address.'
They said also ' 4 working days '

So I explained them 'how you can imagine Xmas without family !!!!'
Finaly, DX accept I will collect my RC to DX office.
I was so happy to receive my RC and be able to spend Xmas with my family.

And today, I got my RC.

BUT !!! My passport was not inside.
So, my xmas is finised, I have to be UK without my family.

Sorry for long messege, Just I wanted share my experience.
Anyhow I had my RC.

Good luck for everybody !

Hello guys,
Thank you for your sweet messages. Alright i will start with explanation and then step we already made to do something about it. Applied as married couple, forgot put payslips, sent them later. Apparently they didnt match them and, which is the biggest surprise, they couldnt contact my husband's employer. On their part, employers claim they never received any calls or emails. Anyway i got out dissapointed because HO made zero effort basically. They couldt even allocate our payslips to our case properly. Our case worker changed twice, crazy mess. They sent all the papers, apart from payslips.

Anyway, we contacted everyone, who can be contacted.By the way Miu that email doesnt work anymore. With the help of our good friend went to see great immigration lawyer. She looked through the papers and said that the easiest way is to reapply, but admitted that HO didnt make an effort to consider all pieces of evidence. She is inquring on our part to seek reconsideration. So we will see how it goes. Everyone is persuading me to reapply, but i really cant be bothered. Would rather go somewhere else then go through another year of hell.

But I wanted to say, don't get scared or discouraged by our case, I am sure you will receive positive feedback very soon. Thank you for your support guys, i will update when we hear back.

Dear all, yesterday I got a missed delivery note from DX, which I re-arranged for Monday.
I also received all my documents today with a letter saying that I should receive my residence card within 10 working days. So I think this is a happy ending to my story, which had not a happy start: me and my boyfriend-now husband- applied as unmarried partners first and got refused.

Wishing good luck to everyone! And also never give up on your relationship because of this kind of difficulties

Hey Guys,
This is a really resourceful forum.
Thanks for sharing.
I applied EEA2 on 19th August and got my COA on 19th Sept,
but I still haven't heard of anything from HO.
Anyone applied in August got it?

It seems to me it will take 5 months for them to sent the RC though...
I am married , my husband is Estonian. we didn't send my husband passport as he has to do business trip
but we send his driving licence. And I came to UK just with my travel visa, I hope these would not be any excuse for HO to reject on my application.

For those who received RC, how do they post the documents, RC and passport to you?

thanks so much guys!

Excellent news am happy for you, your solicitor should not have asked to withdraw your application, all that needed to be done was update your application with your married status, anyway HO did the right thing and just updated it, so you saved £65.

I guess the important thing is you have your RC, enjoy it and have fun.

Dear All,

Glad to have found this forum thread.

I am exercising EU Treaty rights in Ireland to bring mom over to the UK.

I have already applied for Residenct Card for my mother in Ireland and awaiting letter for Temporary stamp.

May I know what documents I would need to submit for Centre of Life when I submit my EEA FM application eventually in UK please?

Could anyone kindly help me with suggestions or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks and best regards,
Raja

All my documents were posted back in the prepaid special delivery envelope which I enclosed with my application. I requested our passports in September so had them already with me.
And thanks to this forum I know that the HO uses DX delivery to post residency cards

My mum applied for Residence Card in June. It's been 6 months and we have yet to receive a decision. We applied through a solicitor and it seems she's very busy with other cases so she hasn't really contacted us about what to do next. I'm new to this forum and would appreciate and help or advice. I should mention I wrote and email to the local MP after reading other people's posts and saw it being suggested.

Application timeline:
Application sent: 15th June 2015
Application received by Home Office: 19th June 2015
CoA received: 2nd July 2015
Biometric Enrolment letter received: 4th August 2015

The barcode for my sisters letter wasn't readable and we had to wait 2 weeks to receive an enrolment letter for her.

Hi everyone,

This thread has been so useful in understanding what to expect from the Home Office. I didn't post about my application before, but here it is:

Unmarried partner (Canadian) of an EU citizen (French), who is a PhD student. I entered the UK on a Tier 5 Youth mobility visa when we moved here and started living together 2 years ago. (We had lived together 2 weeks short of 2 years when I sent the application.) I was able to keep working continuously after showing my employer the guidelines for leave under Section 3C, but both they and I are very relieved to finally have the card! And I can leave the country to visit family for Christmas and just come back to normal life. :)

Application timeline:
Application sent: 15th July 2015
Application received by Home Office: 16th July 2015
CoA w/o right to work and Biometrics letter received: 2nd Aug 2015
Realized we missed the requirement for health insurance, so bought some quickly and sent documents to Home Office: mid-September
RC received: 14th Dec 2015
