Read more about this in the earlier discussion in the board, there is link to find your local MP given by one of the EEA2 Gladitors!!!
It is very shocking to know that some of us here have their COA within 5 days of application submission why we are still waiting over 4-5 weeks. This is a disaster. I will continue to call the numbers until one day,I get to speak with someone.
make sure you choose the right extensions to get through and speak to some one. i think it is 2 and then 3 and then another 2 anyway if you choose one extension and get cut off try another till you get through. good luck

Hi tyoosuf, thanks for your information, I will check MP.
It seems another person which I replied did not received COA as well. All of us sent application in April. I hope anyone sent application in March or April OR LATER can post process here.

Also if you have any process, please post here let us know. I will as well.I wish all of us can receive soon and have a good luck.

Hi tyoosuf,

I sent my application on 31 March, the HO received it on 1 April. And I just received my COA on 8 May (letter dated 28 April). I guess we have to wait more than a month to receive the COA now. It's painful!!!

Hello Sanu84,
Woah! This is outrageous! Waiting a month just to confirm application they receive is very bad. Some people are lucky with this COA.
Am about to lose my job here and HO doesnt even care.
I finally got through and I was told that I need to fax a letter to a specific number(01512131961) to request for speed of the COA.

The COA that I received came from Department 7. Wondering if everyone else received it from the same department.

For the residence card application you will obviously have to state in what relationship you are with the EEA national.

EEA2 applicaton

Post by babie_meg » Wed May 12, 2010 4:58 pm

I sent my EEA2 application on 27 April 2010, received by HO on 28 April 2010. So far I have not received the COA and I'm calling HO every day to check the status. I have a job offer waiting for me but I don't have my passport or COA to prove my eligibility to work in the UK. Does anyone know if I can aleady work even without the COA? i am married to a French national working in the UK.

Hey there,

I'm pretty much in the same situation as you are. UKBA states that as soon as you're married you're allowed to live and work in the UK without need of showing proof for 3 months, but if you're looking to settle and hold a permanant job, you would need extra documentation. So legally you are allowed to work, you just need to show proof.

I sent my application a week before you and have yet to receive my COA :( as I ranted in my previous post hehe.

Did you make any copies of your marriage certificate and passport? You can show your potential employers that, and they might consider. Its up to their discretion I'm afraid.

Keep the faith! *hugs*

Then do you know if I can request my passports back at this stage even before my file has been created? Because I need to travel to France end of the month for a wedding with my husband. I called HO again today and asked them for our passports back and asked if the application would still continue because it's still only at the 'checking stage' and the file has not been created yet that's why the COA has not been sent out, and they promised me it would still continue but I'm very worried....! Has anyone ever requested their passports back before they received the COA? Because if it's taking 1-2 months just to get the COA then it's not unreasonable to have to travel in the meantime?

Hi, missames,
I think all the April application has the same situation. I post even more than 15 days earlier than u, but I still did not received COA. I think they delay a lot, mabe due to the changes of forms and rules from 6th April and GMT election. The lates news is one post 31th March, just received 8th May. I think I still need wait to 1-2 weeks. Now the COA need more than 5 weeks seems, I do not know how long will be those waiting for RC.
