Hi Craftynick

My husband also sent his EEA2 on 13 august by recorded delivery. But still we do not have any acknowledgement letter from HO. But on internet Royal mail website we have Evidence of reciving on 16 august.
My question is that are HO send acknowledge about receiving EEA2 application or Not???????

EEA2 Residence Card - still waiting after 7 mnths!? pls help

Post by kiki84 » Wed Sep 08, 2010 4:06 pm

Hi there. I applied for residence card (I'm married to an Italian national) on the 23rd of February. Received my Certificate of Application early March. It has now been nearly 7 months and 2 weeks ago we sent a letter requesting an update on my application. I am now going to miss my best friend's wedding in 2 weeks time as I don't have my passport and can't travel. I am getting very impatient and need to travel next month also. I have tried to contact the number provided on the COA but it isn't possible to speak to someone to get an update. I don't really want to request for my passport to be returned before my application has been processed. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do or perhaps another number that I can try where I can actually speak to an individual?

my friend's wife's EEA2 applications along with all original documents this week. I am wondering whether the dept will return original passports and marriage certificate for a period (say 10 days), as i will need the same for a trip to another EU country.

Thanks in advance,

quoted from simple_shoes: (if you want to speak to an individual)

Phone number - 0151 672 5626
first select option 1, then option 2

Mon-Fri, working hours - 9am - 5pm
it is better to call early in the morning

Just received RC as an Immigration Status Document i.e. A4 paper not a stamp in passport.

Date of Application: 25 Feb 2010
RC dated: 19 Aug 2010
Date Received: 10 September.

It has been a really stressful time for us just like so many others. We hope that all of you still waiting will receive good news soon.

I must confess that I am a little annoyed that when I telephoned UKBA shortly prior to completion of 6 months we were being told "still under consideration" even though the RC and accompanying letters were all dated prior to my telephone call.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALL.

Ken

It seems those who request their passports back before the application has been completed are being issued with these documents..

When did you complain to the Northwest complaints dept. Keep in mind that they do take upto 20 calendar days to get back, thats their SLA 9Service Level Agreement)

Just thought I'd let my background be of use to anyone who may have applied around the same time.

Applied 23/02/10
COA dated 10/03/10 received 24/03/10 (mix up with the postwoman, however)
Called on 24/08/10 and was told my application was in the "Finalisation Department" but couldn't tell me when it would be sent out
Called on 01/09/10 and was told my application was sent out on 28/08/10.
Received RC on 03/09/10 stating that is was issued on 13/08/10.

I applied as an unmarried partner and provided as many documents to prove our 'durable relationship' through four countries as I could. The UK Border Ageny didn't request any additional documents or return any they deemed unnecessary.

I only sent one letter out at the 5.5 month mark (exactly 2 weeks before my RC says it was issued) but did not constantly call or write them for updates.

While I think that nearing the 6-month mark people should definitely make enquiries as to their progress, I think that applicants who constantly inundate the UK Home Office for information do delay things for everyone else. There are some people on this forum who started making enquiries to both the Home Office and local MP's after two months! I don't think it's fair to the rest of the people who apply and understand the wait involved for some other applicants to think their cases should be resolved in half the time! Just my opinion after reading through every single post on here!

EEA2 Refused, Waiting on Hearing. Urgent Plzx

Post by stigebyrant333 » Thu Sep 16, 2010 1:47 am

Hello Every1, i applied for my eea2 application and it was refuse on fact that i didnt supply enough evidence to indicate that im depending on my uncle before arriving in the uk.
My appeal is in some weeks time, my girlfriend is pregnant and due next month and we have been living together along with my uncle for 1 year now as well, plus i ask my mum to help me get an affidavit of support from nigeria ..
I will like to know if anyone has a clue about my chances of winning the appeal.
