How long do they take to return the appication, if the application is not in order or in need of more documents? My friend's wife applied two weeks back.

I actually sent application the second time, because first application was returned.
I sent my application first time 1st of August, but it was returned after two weeks of waiting. Because I didn't attach my husband's WRS documents.

hello everyone
i send my application on 28th of may, i only received a letter form home office said they received my application, i havent received my coa, its been 4 months already. i didnt send my bf's passport when i send my application as at that time his passport at DVLA, but we wrote on the cover letter explained. do you think this is why i havent received my coa or any other problem? and do they ask for my bf's passport and other documents when they need it or i have to send it before they ask me? thanks

Unfortunately, they don't ask to send any documents anymore, they just return application back with letter which says about needed additional documents. But 4 months it's a quite long time to wait so You should hope to get Residence Card without additional documents

I think you should have enclosed your passport !If it was in DVLA,you should wait or recall the passport before you send the documents to UKBA.
UKBA is more important than DVLA

IDENTITY is crucial!

Do they must issue coa before they issue the RC? they didnt send back the documents and ask more document, so i dont know my statuation now. but we are try to get my bf new ID now.

btw, when we send the application we send a copy of my bf's passport, is that i still need to send the original passport? and also do you think this why they didn't send my application back and didnt issue my coa??

Hello there!
I've got a question about COA.
I received COA about a week ago, after applying EEA2
Does COA mean that I'll get Residence Card or it means only that HO got my documents ?
Thank You for any replying :)

EE1/EE2 submitted 11th March
Received by HO on 12th March
COA issued dated 28th March
Case ID No on COA
No other Ref No
Now we're on count down mode

The question is; What are the differences in a COA given the following scenarios I have observed here:
1. COA with a Ref No (No Case ID)
2. COA with a Case ID (No Ref No)
3. COA with a Ref No & Case ID

Does any of the above have any meaning to issuance of RC?
Finally, received RC on Monday dated 1st September, issued 12 days before the end of the six months and all documents back. We feel truly blessed and all weight on our shoulder depleted.

Best wishes to everyone!

Did you receive it as a sticker in your passport or as a piece of paper?

RC endorsed on my passport as we did not request our passports back while they were with the Home Office

Do not worry, now they are still processing April application.
6 months already, some of us still waiting, but as the other people example,
it will take nearly 7 month arrive to your hand.
still keep positive waiting

hello,

big thank you to everyone who keeps this forum going, very much appreciated. just wanted to update my timelines as well

EEA 1& EEA 2 sent on 1.9.2010
Receieved by HO on 2.9.2010
called the HO on the 30.9.2010 and was advised COA would be sent out in a day or two(hopefully 1st or 4th of oct) dont know why it has taken this long?!? compared to chIrl and bombom lucky arent you.

does anyone know if letters are being sent to the home address or the correspondence address? because i have a different correspondence address to my home address

i hope to get the COA soon and ill share the timescales
goodluck people

Can I send 2nd passport with EEA2 without Family Permit?

Post by cmdawson » Tue Oct 05, 2010 3:08 pm

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to do this without losing my passport for 6 months. I can get a 2nd US passport valid for 2 years, but this will obviously not have my current 6-month family permit included. Do you think this would work or am I absolutely required to send the passport that has the family permit?

The COA is an official confirmation or your rights to live and work while your application is being processed, In a way its a confirmation of them recieving your documents.

The HO are required by law to acknowledge reciept of RC applications by issuing a COA.

Bottom line its not a guarantee but its a start, all things being equal we'll all get our RC.
