I actually sent application the second time, because first application was returned.
I sent my application first time 1st of August, but it was returned after two weeks of waiting. Because I didn't attach my husband's WRS documents.

Unfortunately, they don't ask to send any documents anymore, they just return application back with letter which says about needed additional documents. But 4 months it's a quite long time to wait so You should hope to get Residence Card without additional documents

I think you should have enclosed your passport !If it was in DVLA,you should wait or recall the passport before you send the documents to UKBA.
UKBA is more important than DVLA

IDENTITY is crucial!

btw, when we send the application we send a copy of my bf's passport, is that i still need to send the original passport? and also do you think this why they didn't send my application back and didnt issue my coa??

Hello there!
I've got a question about COA.
I received COA about a week ago, after applying EEA2
Does COA mean that I'll get Residence Card or it means only that HO got my documents ?
Thank You for any replying :)

EE1/EE2 submitted 11th March
Received by HO on 12th March
COA issued dated 28th March
Case ID No on COA
No other Ref No
Now we're on count down mode

The question is; What are the differences in a COA given the following scenarios I have observed here:
1. COA with a Ref No (No Case ID)
2. COA with a Case ID (No Ref No)
3. COA with a Ref No & Case ID

Does any of the above have any meaning to issuance of RC?
Finally, received RC on Monday dated 1st September, issued 12 days before the end of the six months and all documents back. We feel truly blessed and all weight on our shoulder depleted.

Best wishes to everyone!

RC endorsed on my passport as we did not request our passports back while they were with the Home Office

Do not worry, now they are still processing April application.
6 months already, some of us still waiting, but as the other people example,
it will take nearly 7 month arrive to your hand.
still keep positive waiting

Receieved by HO on 2.9.2010
called the HO on the 30.9.2010 and was advised COA would be sent out in a day or two(hopefully 1st or 4th of oct) dont know why it has taken this long?!? compared to chIrl and bombom lucky arent you.

does anyone know if letters are being sent to the home address or the correspondence address? because i have a different correspondence address to my home address

i hope to get the COA soon and ill share the timescales

Can I send 2nd passport with EEA2 without Family Permit?

Post by cmdawson » Tue Oct 05, 2010 4:08 pm

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to do this without losing my passport for 6 months. I can get a 2nd US passport valid for 2 years, but this will obviously not have my current 6-month family permit included. Do you think this would work or am I absolutely required to send the passport that has the family permit?

The COA is an official confirmation or your rights to live and work while your application is being processed, In a way its a confirmation of them recieving your documents.

The HO are required by law to acknowledge reciept of RC applications by issuing a COA.

Bottom line its not a guarantee but its a start, all things being equal we'll all get our RC.

To Carling40

Did you apply for the RC as spouse or unmarried partner?
It may make difference.
I believe you sent the applications to Liverpool.
Is it right?

I read you contacted the office on 30th Sep.
They might notice that the COA hadn't sent out for you on the day.
If so, it may take about 10 days as my COA was dated on 22nd Sep and received on 2nd Oct.
This was sent by second class mail (not recorded for).
Or postoffice lost it.

I think what you can do is wait about a week more and contact the office again.

Post by Bombom the Frenchies » Tue Oct 05, 2010 11:00 pm

To cmdawson

My passport does not have the family permit.
I applied for the RC with this passport.
So far I haven't heard anything about it.

I don't think the family permit is the requirement for the RC.

I wondered this point as well.
As I am non-visa national, I don't need visa to enter UK.
The family permit web page from UK border agency says
'Non-EEA family members should get an EEA family permit before they travel to the UK if they are visa nationals'
So technically non-visa nationals don't have to get a family permit to enter UK.
As consequence, non-visa nationals can apply for the RC without the family permit.
That's my understanding.

Hello Everybody!
I'm still awaiting too. Applied in April for EEA. In July requested both passports for emergency travel. I was seriously ill, finally had treatment in UK. I've informed them that we haven't traveled. Passports still at home. Silence from HO. They're rude on phone, don't tell anything....
Here's brief story.
Application sent 10/04/2010
HO received 13/04/2010
COA dated 18/05/2010
It'll be 6 months next week...I want to see my mom...I want to go on Holiday... :(
Is it true that waiting time depends of applicants citezenship? I'm russian. There's an opinion that they can keep it as long as they want just because I'm russian....
