Did you apply for the RC as spouse or unmarried partner?
It may make difference.
I believe you sent the applications to Liverpool.
Is it right?

I read you contacted the office on 30th Sep.
They might notice that the COA hadn't sent out for you on the day.
If so, it may take about 10 days as my COA was dated on 22nd Sep and received on 2nd Oct.
This was sent by second class mail (not recorded for).
Or postoffice lost it.

I think what you can do is wait about a week more and contact the office again.

Re: Can I send 2nd passport with EEA2 without Family Permit?

Post by Bombom the Frenchies » Tue Oct 05, 2010 10:00 pm

To cmdawson

My passport does not have the family permit.
I applied for the RC with this passport.
So far I haven't heard anything about it.

I don't think the family permit is the requirement for the RC.

I wondered this point as well.
As I am non-visa national, I don't need visa to enter UK.
The family permit web page from UK border agency says
'Non-EEA family members should get an EEA family permit before they travel to the UK if they are visa nationals'
So technically non-visa nationals don't have to get a family permit to enter UK.
As consequence, non-visa nationals can apply for the RC without the family permit.
That's my understanding.
cmdawson wrote:Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to do this without losing my passport for 6 months. I can get a 2nd US passport valid for 2 years, but this will obviously not have my current 6-month family permit included. Do you think this would work or am I absolutely required to send the passport that has the family permit?

Do not worry, now they are still processing April application.
6 months already, some of us still waiting, but as the other people example,
it will take nearly 7 month arrive to your hand.
still keep positive waiting
Hello Everybody!
I'm still awaiting too. Applied in April for EEA. In July requested both passports for emergency travel. I was seriously ill, finally had treatment in UK. I've informed them that we haven't traveled. Passports still at home. Silence from HO. They're rude on phone, don't tell anything....
Here's brief story.
Application sent 10/04/2010
HO received 13/04/2010
COA dated 18/05/2010
It'll be 6 months next week...I want to see my mom...I want to go on Holiday... :(
Is it true that waiting time depends of applicants citezenship? I'm russian. There's an opinion that they can keep it as long as they want just because I'm russian....

Do not worry, me and other person sent earlier than u, still not received.
Did u call them? they told me in finaly stage. I believe we will receive it by the end of this month. I do not think they will decide by nationality. Most depend on your partner status, like working, study or self-employment

Its a YES!!!

Post by makisig » Fri Oct 08, 2010 10:06 am

Just received our residence cards this morning. I'd like to share our time line:

Applied - 09 Apr2010
CoA received - 17 May 2010
-Called the HO twice to check the status.
RC Issued - 29September 2010
RC Received - 08 October 2010

They approved our RC 2 weeks before the 6 month period. Me and my bother applied as a Family Member of an EEA National (Spanish).
RC is a sticker in our passport. 5 years expiry, with a remarks of Employment and Business Activites Allowed. We feel so blessed! Finally we can start looking for work after almost a year of un-employment. GOD is really really good. All those feelings of frustration and depression were all gone now. Keep up the faith guys. Pray pray pray..May you receive your RCs soon! God Bless to everyone!

I'm confuse...

Post by danivale » Fri Oct 08, 2010 1:12 pm

I'm married to an european citizen, he's been liviing and working here for the past 6 years. I sent my application to the HO and they received it on 9/7/2010.
I tried to apply for an Insurance Number and today I got a letter from the Job Centre saying that it was denied because I don t have enough documents to prove that I have the right to work here...
When I called the Job Centre really pissed I told them that I went to the interview with my marriage certificate, the COA letter from the HO, a letter from my employer, my passport and I don t know what else do they need to verify that I can work in this country, and they told me that they called the HO and they said that I don t have the right to work in here????
Did anybody have problems like that?
I had the idea that if I m married to an european citizen that is proof enough

Almost 5 months and still nothing...

Post by fabnf » Fri Oct 15, 2010 10:09 am

Hi,

Just to give an update, my husband who is brazilian applied for the EEA2 in May (I'm Italian), application was received by the HO on 18/05, COA received about 2 months ago and now we are getting to 5 months of waiting. I really want to believe that before the 6 months deadline he will receive his visa but reading this forum makes me think that they don't care about this deadline at all and the truth is that no one will do anything about it because it takes time and money to sue these bastards.

Since we got married in May (before sending the application) we didn't have a chance to go on our honeymoon because HO have our passports, it is terrible!

HELOOOOO! IT's me again))) I'just received my RC dated 07/10/10. But I rceived it only at friday 15/10/10,so they've issued just before the end of 6 months period. My RC is placed on A4 paper, but it's more plus than minus because they told me that if my passport expires i don't have to reaaply for new RC, because it wasn't sticked to my old passport. So I have to travel with this paper every time. Slightly inconviniet but anyway I'm so happy! WISH ALL THE BEST TO PEOLPE WHO STILL WAIT!!!
