hi everyone,

I got my RC today!!!
I'm so happy!!!!

this is my history

05,July,2010 EEA2 apply

06,August,2010 COA received

same day, I asked my passport back by phone

11,August,2010 I received my passport by Special delivery

16,August,2010 I sent section 3 form and marriage certificate
(I noticed I had to send it ,,, someone told me that in another topic of this web site.)

08,November,2010 I called HO to tell them my new address. I asked for my process , they told me it was under consideration,,,

12,November,2010 I sent a e-mail to ask for my husband's passport back for his trip on December. I wanted to ''PUSH'' them, so I sent it.

24, November,2010 I received my RC!!!!!! (issued 17,November,2010)

I hope everyone who are waiting for RC will receive soon.
good luck and thanks for good information every time!!!!!

hiya. am really impressed abt everyone's effort concerning their application. coz av always thot am the only one applyin or going thru the ukba problem lol.
am a non-eea natonal, applied march 30th as unmarried partner to my finnish partner , got COA on 6th MAY. didnt call them at all regarging the progress. until my partner had to travel for 4-days to finland in oct. and requested her passport back, and ukba letter sayin not to send it until requested for again. but on her return, our solicitor ask us to send it to them, ignoring their letter lol. after reading everyone's story here and how it takes time to get the RC, i decieded to ring them this morning and the nice guy behind the fone siad to me all docs recieved and i will hear from them within nxt 4weeks and if not i shld ring them back again just to double check. (so am hoping i will get my RC in the post by then.) so i will suggest pple need to ring , write or fax to PUSH them.

I m a bit confuse....

Post by danivale » Fri Nov 26, 2010 10:10 am

I m not sure if "confuse" is the word or maybe "worried" should apply better...
I sent the form with all my papers and they received them on 9th of July. Then I receive the COA letter like around a month later.
After that, in September 1st I requested my passport and marriage certificate to apply for a National Insurance number, and they sent everything.
When I applied for the NIN they said it was denied because of the home office... so I called and they said that I don't have the right to work in this country so I asked them why, as I m married to an European citizen and they said that I haven't send them the marriage certificate... So I told the lady that I did send it and I asked it back to take it to the Job Centre and they said that they were gonna send me a letter saying that I can work and if they needed the marriage certificate back they will call me or my husband and ask for it.
That happened on October 21st so I waited for a letter that never arrived... Last week, I called again asking what happened with the letter, and the guy I talked to said that the letter was issued on 25th of october and he was gonna report that I didn t get it and send a new one.

Today, I just called the home office and they said that a desition has been taken on november 24th and I m gonna get all my papers back in a few days but they didn t say anything if it was approved or nothing, she said she couldn t give me that information over the phone, and to be honest, now with all the mess they did with my papers I have to say... I m worried because I don t want to do all over again.. I ve been waiting enough

I just called the HO this afternoon to enquire about the situation of my application and I was told that a decision has been made and I shall get a letter from them within the next 2 weeks.

Is this their normal saying as I was expecting her to say I shall get my documents and passport back?

I need someone's response fast. I'm really panicking right now.

Here is the history:
Submitted application - 12/07
HO received on 15/07
COA dated 06/08
COA received on 16/08

No need to panic, Generally the HO just say if the decision has been made and that you will receive your docs in the post. Just because she said letter doesnt mean that it has to be bad news. Keep your fingers crossed and just wait to get your documents back.

Yes, but what should I ask them? It clearly says in CoA that I'm not allowed to call or write them until 6 months end...
Do you think I will get it till March?

you must have sent the passport back. Did you send a covering letter or smth with it to explain them, or just passport and that's it?

Hi
This is what happen to me. I sent my application end of May but the UKBA told me they did not receive it until July when they sent me the COA. In October I called them and ask for my wife EU passport and they sent it after 2 days. End of October I call them to say my wife is now self employed and the man told me I dont need to because a decission has been made. He didnot tell me good of bad but when my documents came back it is positive.
5 years resident stamped on my passport so be hopeful.

Here is our timeline:

EEA2 Application sent : 05-JUNE-2010
Home Office Received on : 07-JUNE-2010
CoA issued : 13-JULY-2010
Coa received : 17-JULY-2010
RC issued : 11-NOV-2010
RC and all of our documents received: 27-NOV-2010

Finally we got everything back also passport with 5 years resident stamp. 10 days before the 6 months ends.
We never call or email them.

All the best everyone.

Residence card arrived separately in a piece of paper.

- Submitted at the end of July 2010
- Request passport back when submitted
- Passports arrived 2 weeks after submission
- COA arrived 3 weeks after submission
- They never asked for the passport back
- Received a paper with the residence card 03/12/10
- RC issued 22/11/10

Weird that it is not printed on the passport, but I guess it's fine.

Good luck everyone! And thanks a lot for all the help on this forum!

Perhaps because the UKBA couldn't be bothered to request that the passport be returned. Bear in mind that when applying for certain visas the free standing RC may not be accepted.
