I've got my Permanent residence card

Post by banku » Sat Apr 16, 2011 1:28 pm

Just wanted to tell you about the timing it took to proceed my application

I applied for EEA4 Permanent residence on 13.12.2010
Received COA in the First week of Feb.2011 ,
On March 30th H.O. Liverpool called my solicitor for any additional document. Which was sent the following day.
and Got my Passport with Permanent residence card on 13th April , The date on the residence card was 06.04.2011.

Please read my previous posts and if some one has similar case like mine , I would be more than happy to advise , as I've been through the procedure so I know a little bit more than I knew earlier on.
Best of Luck to every one who is waiting and hope you get it soon.
Regards.

Congratulations to Banku and Beehive, i still havent recieved my COA and it's getting way too long and a little worrying.

if you can read my earlier postings (first on the page), it details my status although i provided all the documents requested i feel as though it may not be enough becasue my wife and i leave at seperate adresses and that has lasted for more than 2 years now due to work location and all. we are still happily married but out of the last 5 yrs we've lived apart for more than 2 years (documents submitted suggest the same). i dont know if this would hinder my chances but if you have any insight in type of case please shed some light.

i would be very grateful for your response.

thank you

Hi!

I just wanted to let you know that i was in the similar situation with the addresses. Me and my husband had the same address (on the bank statements) only the 1st and the last year (out of 5) because we were moving the houses quite often. We also did not have any utility bills in our names. However we did live together and our lawers just asked to confirm it to them.
I was extremely worried about this fact as well. However it turned out just fine and I received my PR recently.

Thank you os_sbs, i'm glad it went well for you and i can sleep much better knowing if more information is required by me to prove that we are genuinely married that i can easily do that either by myself or with the help of a specialist.

lubeji247, it seems to me this period of the year is quite busy and since we are going through similar processing times it only suggest that the UKBA is overwhelmed or lacking working force. we'll have to be patient i guess and hope for the best.

Hi Newme!

sounds weird but we have not provided any additional documentation. I raised this question with my lawers in the first place (before hiring them as they're quite expensive) as do we need to provide anything as a proof of the relationship as we had different addresses for a few years. They told me that under EEA regulations the only proof of relationship that HO should ask for is marriage certificate. Indeed, HO did not ask for anything else.
However I should mention as well that the lawers which i hired are really strong guys, so it did help a lot (as they provided me a brilliant representation during my application). So I would suggest - if you have some doubts with your application consult a specialist. I believe that spending some money on them is better them loosing 5-years of residence and starting the whole proccess again.

I see that who applied the end of Jan already got the documents back, anyone done after apply in Feb? I did the 10th of Feb and received the COA month later, no additional documentation requested from them which I see delay the process quite a lot.

Wondering if maybe time for complain by phone or post as it's really a joke they hold your documents for three months+ for giving you something they have to. Pretty sure that brits living in my country and in similar situation wouldn't wait more than couple of weeks, actually I doubt anything similar to this happens in any EU country. If they know the process takes 6+ months because they are short in personnel why the hell they don't give a temporary resident permit or something that allow you to have a normal life and don't feel like in Jail in Uk.

Well, I've got it today luckily, here my dates:

10th Feb sent the documents (no solicitor)
COA received about month later
18th May got my documents back, the stamp is dated 9th May

The whole process seems to take about 3 months in this period if are no additional documents are requested.

Good luck

Hi,

Its a very interesting and helpful website. My husband is also getting mad and we are going through tough time with HO.

I also need guidence from any one of you.

My Husband apply for EEA4 . Ist when he apply . He got his application back in a week. With all documents with a letter of few requirements. Which we fullfill and send them again.

Now not any news from them more then a week.

My question is that my husband Visa run out last week. Till now he has not received any COA. His company is asking for the evidence. His job is on risk. and he is worried about his status here.
What shall we do ?

It usually take the HO about a month to issue the CoA. You could either call the HO and explain why you need the CoA, maybe they can speed it up. Or ask your husband employer to call the HO and verify that although the 5 years Residence Card has expired, he is still entitled to work in the UK (assuming you have been exercising treaty rights for the past 5 years).

JAMBO HAS ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION QUITE ACCURATELY. THE GOOD NEWS IS, YOU MUST HAVE SATISFIED THE HOME OFFICE WITH THE REQUESTED DOUCUMENTATION AND THAT IS WHY YOU HAVENT HEARD FROM THEM. ALSO IT TAKES APPROX 2 WEEKS TO ISSUE A COA AND DUE TO SECOND CLASS POSTAGE IT TAKES ANOTHER LAZY TWO WEEKS TO GET TO YOU.

TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS (HIGHLY UNLIKLY WITH THE UKBA PROCESS) GIVE THE HOME OFFICE A RING ON THIS NUMBER 01516725626 AND CHOOSE THE RIGHT OPTIONS (IT MAY DIRECT YOUR CALL TO AN AUTOMATED SERVICE, DROP THE CALL, TRY AGAIN AND GO FOR THE NEXT OPTION TILL YOU GET SOMEONE ON THE PHONE).

BE GENTLE WHEN YOU SPEAK TO THE HO, AND CLEARLY STATE YOUR CONCERNS AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE RIGHT ADVICE. GOOD LUCK.

About 3-4 months on average, on the basis of the clients' applications.

We normally receive Certificates of Applications within 1-3 weeks.

In some cases we had to ask for the CoAs to be re-sent.

Tony Dalton, a Chief Caseworker at the Nationality and European Casework was quite helpful in the past, if any serious problem arouse. I think he has now retired.
lina katen wrote:Hi
I applied for EEA4 on around the 25th of january 2010. UKBA called my lawyer asking for the latest payslips. I might have missed the last month's payslip to complete the 5 years required excersising traety right not sure.

My question:

1-Starting in june 2009 UKBA check all applications before proccessing. If an EEA4 application is incomplete do the UKBA return the application to you?

2-I did not recieve COA. Is that normal procedures to ask for such information (latest payslips) before issueing COA?If not does that mean they started processing my appliation?

3-I read online that in the last few months there are people who got EEA4 and EEA2 visa's approved in just a month or even a few weeks. Do you think this will be the case with me or just wishful thinking.
