Hi Vampiro.
My time history is exactly same as yours. Called the HO today and was advised that my application is still progressing.
Fingers cross. :(

If the rules are still the same you can apply 28 days before. So let say your residency card valid until 30th June 2012, your application for PR should reach to the Home Office not earlier than 2nd June.

olcay, but does it really need to be 28 days before the permit expires? The permit of course not even being required to exist to begin with under EU law ...

My scenario -- married August 1, 2006 to an EEA national (at which point we were both already in the UK) but I have a permit which expires October 2011 due to the (relatively minor) processing delays with my EEA2 application.

However as I understand it, I will automatically acquire a right of permanent residence on August 1, 2011. Therefore can I apply for EEA4 now since there are less than 28 days before my 5 year anniversary?

I believe the 28 days rule only applies when applying under the immigration laws not under EU regulations. Under EU regulations, you need to completed the 5 years exercising treaty rights. In your case - 1st August 2011, not when the Residence Card expires (assuming your EEA partner has been exercising treaty rights from that date).

Nice one buddy, I can feel it for you. I sent mine today.

EEA3+4 sent today 13/07/2011

The Waiting game begins. Cost me £45 to send a package weighting 2.1kg with a return envelope.

I have been in the UK for 7 years now but my "2 years working holiday visa" does not count. After getting married in 2006 I then switched over to EEA RC. It was back in the time before you had to leave UK and apply from abroad. Me wife's been here 6 years and she got her residence card after a year... and the only reason she is applying for PR is to support my EEA4 application, bless her.

lol, your story matches my own andrej. Good luck to us both. I'll be applying very soon. I'm just going to wait until mid-Aug to see if the same-day Liverpool thing materialises.

Then you know what I mean... It no longer means anything to be a member of the English speaking Commonwealth (Aus, NZ, SA, Can) - Now it is all about EU. They don't even recognise your working holiday visa (which don't exist any more)...

I do not have much hope for Fast Track Service in Liverpool. They were supposed to start it on the 06.06.2011 but then nothing. Maybe if they do introduce it soon, I shall request all my documents back (pointing out the long waiting time and their incompetence in my letter) and then use the service. I have to do mine now as I am starting my new job end of July and my employer wants to see proof after mid August when my RC runs out.

Good luck seputus!

Re:PR card application..

Post by lubeji247 » Mon Jul 18, 2011 11:56 am

Hi guys,
To Almighty God be the glory.
I have finally gotten my PR issued on the 1st of July,2011 as stated in the vignette that bears my passport size photogragh on page 9 of my passport.
It took HO 4 months to arrive at a favourable decision.
I sent my application to them on the 18th of March and they received it on the 21st.I received my COA after 2wks of application and nothing was heard from them until last Friday (15th of july)i saw a collection slip from Royal Mail indicating i had some package waiting for me at their local office for collection. So i went there today and picked it up and the rest is now history.
I pray to God for all of you waiting for yours that very soon you too will receive good news and have course to glorify our living God.
You would read more from me in Naturalisation section of this very useful Forum.
Stay blessed all.

God bless you too friend and may he watch over the rest of us poor applicants - left to the mercy of poorly paid and trained staff at the HO. :)

Yikes..Apologies folks!

My application was sent right after the bank holiday (around 3 or 4 May) then received my COA letter on the following Friday, 13 May 2011 because my 5yr residence stamp was soon to expire in early June 2011 and my job was pestering me about it.

Also this letter was dated on 10 May.

So yes about 6-7 business days after, I guess.

Hi everyone! Very helpful post here!

I'd appreciate any help I can get as i'm getting quite worried.

My visa was to expire on the 4th of August and they have received my EEA4 on the 11/07. I called them on the 19/07 asking for my passport back as I need to travel (I have a flight and expensive holidays booked for 02/09). I was told that it hadn't been processed yet and therefore they wouldn't be able to find my application to return our documents yet.

My case is very simple, I'm Brazilian and my wife's Spanish and she's worked for the NHS for more than 5 years so seems to be an easy case, can I expect the visa back before the beginning of September?

And when should I wait until to call them back? I've heard that if you call them giving the royal mail tracking number they should be able to find the application, is that true does anyone know?

As you can imagine I'm quite eager on getting the documents back so we can go on our trip.

Can anyone give me any guidance on this?

Thank you so much in advance!!

Gui
