A quick question : when does exactly this 5 years of time period starts in order to apply for PR card ???
1) When EU member arrived in the UK, or
2) when EU member gets married in the UK, or
3) when Non EU family member gets RC visa ????

From
Non EU FM
I assume that you mean PR Card for Non EEA person, in that scenario- no.2.
If for EEA national- no.1.

I was born in an EEA country to a British mother who moved back here when I was under 2 years old. I spent my whole life here and neither of us had any idea that I was required to have medical insurance while I was in further education! It doesn't matter as such now, as I've been working for more than 5 years now, but it's crazy to know that my entire time in the UK (my whole life!) up until then did not qualify towards PR because of not having CSI.
Hi everyone please does anybody know if an EEA with a resident card need to apply for CSI if he is a student?please anybody help with the answer.

I assume so as I don't believe you have free access to the NHS if you're an EEA citizen and not working

Would you be kind enough to update me when you receive it so I can try to manage my expectations?
That doesn't sound good - about your employer.... I shall keep you updated when I receive my COA, most of the people have received within 40 days of applying it seems, so hope we receive it soon.
Good luck!
Carling,
I received my COA yesterday, so around 37 days since I applied. Hope you too get it soon!

[quote="sunnyskies"]Hi This is such a good tip for everyone. I am just wondering if its possible to have the passport back whilst your application is pending. We have plans to travel around March and also, my Father in Law and grandmother are not well. We wanted to be able to travel in case of emergencies. Thanks in advance. :) :)

Hi Sunnyskies, yes you can request passport back from https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outrea ... ments.ofml. Just be careful to select "No" on the first page for the question "Do you want to withdraw the application?". I requested mine back and then travelled to my home country. I,however, had to apply for EEA FP to travel back to UK. It was issued in 10 working days. Submitted EEA FP with COA attached.

Divine25 - what kind of documents did you send to the HO?

i am waiting for my PR. I am applied through my mother as a sponsor. she already has PR and has been working since 2007 full time. i was a student during that time but we never lived together. I sent my mother's PR and my university documents also bank statements. Also both our passports and birth certificate. Hope it will be enough documents.
