hello everyone...

We have finally received positive response from Home Office for both of our applications, which are permanent residence card and a document certifying permanent residence for an EU national. The overall process has taken 6 months and 10 days.

We had a bit of an incident this week. My EU partner received an e-mail from Home Office, claiming that they cannot locate his Comprehensive Sickness Insurance covering the times he was a student. They used literally the following wording "Comprehensive Private Medical Insurance". The moment I saw "Private", I thought that was it, we are done, because all we provided was an EHIC Card as this was sufficient insurance which was instructed in the application form. On the basis of not providing any evidence for Comprehensive Medical Insurance, Home Office said they will reject our application. The words cannot tell the way we felt. They basically gave us an option to withdraw our application or provide the missing evidence/documentation on an urgent basis as our application was over 6 months!!!!

After half an hour we have received another e-mail saying that they have now located the relevant information (EHIC Card) and apologised for the "alarm" caused for the first e-mail. Apparently this was in a different place!?!? I did call the caseworker (phone number was on his e-mail) He called me back and and explained me thhe whole situation. EU and non-EU applications processed separately even though if you are couple and applied together. He was very nice on the phone and confirmed our application was all completed and successful.

We received our documents yesterday (picked it up today as was not home) together with my approval letter(dated 7 Feb 2017) and my partners Document Certifying Permanent Residence.

Now I am waiting for my Permanent Resident Card to be delivered. It kinda sucks that I cannot track it as I have no tracking number and no idea when I will receive it. Reading it on this forum, DX delivers that?

Anyway at least I have got the result which is really relieving.

Hi, I used special delivery but strangely my card was delivered first and my documents came after.
Also I can apply for citizenship straightway as it was written in my letter that I got permanent last year.

Can any of you tell me if application for PR can be made 3-4 months before the 5 years residenc card expire? As far as I know if you live in U.K. For 5 years from the first day you enter the uk with eea family permit then you can apply for PR without having to wait for your residence card to expire. I have friend who said that her lawyer told her she can only submit her PR application within 30 days prior to the residence card expiry date, although she complete her 5 years long before that .

Thanks.

Hello and Thanks everyone for their support. I'm a Non-EEA National, 5.5 years Married, separated to EEA National

Timeline
26.10.2016 Application Sent
28.10.2016 Application received
10.11.2016 Biometrics Request
14.11.2016 Biometrics Sent
20.11.2016 COA received

28.04.2016 6 months completed

18.05.2017
Called HO for an update. They Told me someone will get back in 5 working days. No one did

26.05.2017
Called HO again for an update. Got a call today(31.05.17) saying:
they cannot tell me anything at this time.
it's under consideration.

I ask about the timeframe.

He said when the application passes 6 Month they can't give any timeline.

This is very very painful and depressing. First, they ask not to contact before 6 months. After 6 (7 + now ) months, they say its been more than 6 months, so we cannot give any timeline?

HO took 14 Months to precess My EEA 2 Application in 2012/13.
It's going in the same direction.

I have read several opinions/advice from here but really confused.

Should I keep on pushing over the phone?
Should I Write a letter?
Should I see My MP (NO MP till June 8 )

Any advice on next possible steps and options I have would highly appreciate

Hi everyone !

I'm non-EEA married to EEA, received my PR card in October 2016. Just checked the government website thinking to download the application for my husband as he hasn't applied for PR yet.

And I saw this:

"Your residence card won’t be valid after the UK leaves the EU.

A new scheme will be available for EU citizens and their family members to apply to stay in the UK after it leaves the EU.

Sign up for email updates to find out when you’ll be able to apply to stay in the UK under the new scheme and what steps you’ll need to take."

https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-a-uk-resid ... dence-card

Does this affect residence card only ? Not the PERMANENT residence card ? The so-called new scheme will turn our hard work into nothing - came here for university in 2007, working and contributing to this country for so many years, went through all sorts of home office applications.

Can someone please advise? Appreciate that.

As far as i think you will be fine, and UK is still in the EU, so you have much time for apply for BC and also two more transitional years we have,
