Application posted - 26/04/2012
Application received by HO - 27/04/2012
COA - Still waiting
Application Posted - 13/04/2012

Received by HO - 16/04/2012

COA - still waiting..
I posted my application for eea3 and eea4 on the 17/03/2012, received by HO on the 19/03/2012. I have not receive my COA. I have sent them more than 4 emails and 2 letters requesting for COA, guess what? No response. I have called them so many times, it is always same story, my case has not been allocated to a case worker. even yesterday when I called, it was the same story. I have now given up. the worse thing is that the lady answering the call for HO is a very rude person, am even planning to talk to her supervisor if she is rude to me again.[/quote

I posted my application on 17/03/2012 as well, received by the HO on 19/03/2012 as well.
I received my COA on 16/04/2012,the date on the COA is the 12/04/2012.
Now waiiting the PR.
keep calling and writing to them

3/02/2012: Application submitted
14/02/2012: Application received by HO
07/03/2012: Passport requested for urgent business trip
12/03/2012: Passport received together COA in same envelope
02/04/2012: E-mailed for an update (no response)
10/04/2012: Called for an update and explained that I have to travel frequently for work and that my RC expires 11 May and that i would struggle to even board a plane to return to the UK as I am a visa national. Was simply told that its my choice to travel and that I have to wait 6 months.
10/04/2012: E-mailed for an update and explaining situation (no response)
10/04/2012: sent enquiry to SOLVIT explaining urgency of situation
15/04/2012: Response received from SOLVIT, stating that through treaty rights I am allowed to travel and that if I have any issues with boarding a plane or entering the UK that I need to show my CoA with us much supporting info as possible and they also provided a number that I could ring if I have any difficulty with either of the latter.
01/05/2012: called BA in the hope to get an update but as I have not passed the 6 months mark, they wont even consider taking my details to look into it.

I sent an email to HO on 04/05/2012 Friday, requesting passport back for holiday, Friday after 11/05/2012 rung HO to see what happens and I was told it's been processed and it takes 5 working days only.
I got my passport and my RC(as it's still on A4 paper) back today but not my EEA spouse, she has to call herself if she want it back,,,that is what is what i was told on the phone conversation with HO.
Applied for EEA4 on 24/02/2012.
HO received on 27/02/2012.
Refusal received on 16/08/2012 dated 11/08/2012
At the court, the HO REP withdrawn the decision and asked me to send the DOC for the time before marriage.
PR dated 05/03/2013

We applied for eea3 and eea4 on 20th March.
In the end of April my husband's passport (eea3) with PR came.
No COA for me, although I have requested two times.
Both times they wrote me it has been dispatched.

Does anyone has experience of travelling with expired RC and with COA?
I really hope by the end of July to visit my parents.

It's already exceed the timeline which is 6 months, so i think you should do something about it.
How long have you hold your RC? on what ground have you applied for PR?

Hi spike_uk,

I am just wondering how you drafted your email to request your both passports back? I want to request our passports back and book a holiday for June or July. Am I entitled to do so? When I was waiting for RC before, I called and asked to have passports back and was told it would be treated as application withdrawn.

Thank you

I also applied on the 13th of February and requested my passport back about three weeks after that to travel and received it together with my CoA.

It will not delay your application.

When you travelled, was you Residency card already expired at that time or not yet? Mine is expired now, don't know if I can travel with COA and passport with expired RC in it.

Mine was not expired at the time but it has now expired and I have a trip planned for the first weekend in June and if I have not received the Permanent Residence Card by then I will still travel and try to come back with the CoA.

I don't think entering the UK will be an issue, but the airline might have some questions at boarding but I will just have to deal with them.

Please, keep us informed how it went, and which supporting documents might be necessary. I am planning my trip in the end of July.
