@JanetSunday

Please involve your local MP.
{ I'm not a solicitor, legal professional or immigration advisor, all of my posts are based on my online search and my own PR, ILR (LR), 2 FTT and 2 UTT refused but finally after 3 years of long battle I got my SETTLED STATUS. }

Folks apologies for this basic question - I'm not finding the answer on the forum or the gov website.

As a non-EU family member applying for pre-settled status, I believe I need to post my documents (passport) after my biometrics appointment. From the previous posts on this thread, many applications seem to be taking 4+ months to process.

Question - do they keep your passport for the entire duration of the application processing or do they return it to you after their initial verification?

TIA!

Does anybody thinks that involving MP would escalate the case ?

I have not involved my MP yet. I want to give home office one more week and if no response, I will send an email to my MP.
My timeline
Applied for settled status 18th of February and nothing since then. I am a spouse of EU citizen relying on same relationship. I have called EU resolution centre several times and all they said is to wait, my application is in final stage. In have not heard from them since.

Hello I am sorry I am new to this and I don't know if its the right place to write about. I applied for pre settlement status and I had to send by post my id because It wasn't biometric, after I send the documents I found out that I need to travel urgent, my question is : Do you know if they are going to keep my id until the application is done or they are going to send back the id after they checked my identity. Thank you very much.

Congrats! I have got my status beginning of June, applied on 12th of February, so it takes around 3.5 months.

For those who received their status recently, how long did it take for you to receive a brc(brp) card?

Hi,

I am a non-EU, married to an EU. I did apply for the EU Settlement Scheme with below timelines:

Applied : 20 Feb
Biometric : 08 Mar
COA : 16 Mar
Decision : 08 Jun

It took 3 months for me for a positive decision from the date of biometric. We did emailed HO couple of times to know the status of application as well as contacted local MP to get any info on the application.

It all paid out eventually.. Finally got my decision today 😀😀😀

All the very best for all the applicants.

Did they request you submit additional information after you received your COA?

I've applied with Tier2 BRP online.
You can't apply for settlement scheme with BRP. Should have applied with the passport.
If this is correct then this should be clearly noted in flashing red lights at the first step of the application process. It is not- in fact the opposite, the app invites you to use the BRP- so many of us who are here on a Tier 2 or 4 have gone ahead using the BRP.

Application date: 22/02/21
Biometrics date: 22/03/21
COA Date: 15/04/21 and a phone call from caseworker to resubmit my selfie photograph
Decision email: waiting
Brc: waiting

Retain rights

Got a call this morning (10:33) from a caseworker asking me for my ex wife’s valid Eu ID card, which I don’t have it because I submitted the expired one....I told him I can’t get it because I don’t even know where she is right now (7 years since we divorced). And he said he’s gonna send me an email link to explain.....I’ve been checking my email every seconds since then, nothing still 🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿

Hi I need help.
I am a non Eu married to an EU. I applied for presettled status using my marriage certificate and I got it in 2019 feb, I already had a brp and my partner had not applied then. I have been in the country for 5 years and married for 5 years too. Now I am eligible for settled status because my ni tax details said I am eligible for settled status when I applied through the app. My only issue is that I and my partner are not in good terms so he moved out after I got my presettled in 2019 , Now he has applied and gotten his settled status so I called him to ask for his UAN number so I can link our application for my settled status application but he refused giving me so I just applied for settled status with only our marriage certificate and also answered yes to the question where it says if my partner has applied to the scheme by putting his name in the application but no UAN number. What are my chances of getting the settled status and if the case worker ask for more evidence of my partner , what should I do ?

Nothing else was asked. We only had attached marriage certificate when I submitted my application. No other document was either asked or submitted

We don't know if contacting MP actually helps in expediting the application. There are few scenario only under which probably the application gets expedited. It took 1 month after MP contacted the HO. But you can always give it a try.
