This is my timeline .

Brief history: came Uk 14yrs ago aged 18 via stepmom who left Uk shortly.
Granted another 5yrs RC based on father who is now eea citizen.

Rc expired in Nov 2018.

Applied for PR in 2017 because EU National now retired (dad), was refused because couldn’t show enough evidence of dependency and because over 21yrs.

Did paper appeal , was refused because apparently I was earning good money and not dependent, was given option to appeal BUT abandoned application then since RC was still valid.

Applied for PR in 2018 again , was refused due to not enough evidence to show dependency. Appealed , judge refused appeal due to issues raised in 2017 by previous judge which I didn’t address.

Paid solicitor to appeal to UTT. Last week Monday.

Wednesday 19th submitted application
Thursday 20th drove to wales for biometric and paid £125 as that was the earliest
Friday 21st received COA
Today 29th received email confirming settled status to receive BrC in 7days .

All the best for those waiting.

Also please if I already have a son can I apply for BRitish passport or citizenship form him ?

Or I also have to apply for settlement for him and apply for bc in 1year ?

Hi guys ,
I got 2 questions:

1. If you have been granted a pre-settled statues will you still be treated as EU family member or their no any more relation or residence dependency with your partner when you granted
Pre-settled .

2. I got freind holding EU family member visa and it’s already expired since 6 month . He know nothing about his wife as she left him without any sign 2 yrs ago . He was a bit not responsible but he still have all the documentation of his partner including marriage certificate and copy of her passport .
Do you think he can use the EU settlement scheme and apply of settled or pre- settled statues ?

Many thanks in advance

First off, thanks for this thread - it helped me a lot in terms of expectations. So, to help others, my details are below.

Brief history: Non-EU, been in the UK since fall of 2014 on Tier 4, switched to Tier 2 August 2018 (which is valid until 2021), got married to Irish spouse at the end of May 2019. I considered applying for EEA2 but thanks to this forum realised I could bypass entirely. Since my spouse doesn't need to apply for the settlement scheme due to Irish nationality, I applied directly, details as follows:

Application: 20/06/2019
Biometrics: 22/06/2019 (a Saturday)
COA: 24/06/2019 (morning)
Received pre-settled status: 27/06/2019 (afternoon)

Documents uploaded: Photo of spouse's Irish passport, council tax bill showing her residency for the past six months, and photo of marriage declaration (the form signed during the ceremony, since we have not yet received a formal government-issued certificate)

I am in the same boat.

It will help many.

{ I'm not a solicitor, legal professional or immigration advisor, all of my posts are based on my online search and my own PR, ILR (LR), 2 FTT and 2 UTT refused but finally after 3 years of long battle I got my SETTLED STATUS. }

I am a non-EEA spouse of an Italian. He applied for and received settled status within 2 weeks of his application. I do not have anresidence permit or BRC as I've entered the UK with the EEA treaty stamp at the airport. I've been living with my husband in the UK since August 2018 and applied for pre-settled status.

Submitted my application: May 24th
Biometrics: May 29
COA: May 30
Decision: Still waiting

I sent an email to enquire about the progress of the application around June 3rd. They responded within 2 days that my biometrics have been received and verified & that my case was being considered. I called resolution centre yesterday (June 27) but pretty much got the same answer that was in my email. Hoping for a decision soon.

Just birth certificate to prove relationships
Student loan letters to show living together
Gp letter to show appointments with address on it
Utility bills in dads name since cane to uk
His passports and PR card
And then linked his application to mine using his reference number .

That’s all

Hi Jamiemi,

Not heard anything back since the biometric appointment. They responded to my MP to say there was some confusion around BRP vs BRC and that is what was caused the 'slight' delay in my application and they said a letter had been sent to me to go and enrol my biometrics( the letter was on the 14th of June). Now in month number 4 and still waiting

I'm non-EU wife of Italian husband. He has applied for the settled status today and received COA.
Before I apply for myself and link my application to his, I would like to know for how long they will keep my residence card (to be sent by post to verify my identity) before returning it to me?
Will they scan it and send back regardless of when a decision will be made?
Or will they keep it until the very end of the application?

Thanks

Depending on the individual circumstances, you probably only need to scan it through the EU APP ( https://www.gov.uk/guidance/using-the-e ... -check-app ). But if you have to send it in, which i doubt then they send it back with 4 working days, not until the application is decided.

Thanks for the heads up. I can now see in https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-ci ... d-to-apply where it says:
Scan your document
You can only use the ‘EU Exit: ID Document Check’ app for Android to scan your document if you have one of the following:

valid EU, EEA or Swiss passport or ID card, if its biometric
UK-issued biometric residence card
And I do have the biometric residence card.

Thanks again!

Hello everyone,

I’m posting this as when I was waiting for my application outcome, I found this forum very helpful. So my timeline is application submitted online 10/5/2019, ID documents received on the 12/5/2019. Made quite a few calls to the resolution centre, was told all fine until week 5 when someone spotted a mistake on my application. So all those 5 weeks, they said was fine and nothing to worry about. Called during the sixth week, someone helpful saw there was no movement on my application for 5 weeks escalated it and received COA on the 20/6. Was told by caseworker who called to inform me that it would be pre settled only as system glitch put me as settled so would receive results within one week but actually just received pre settled status today 1/7.
