Worried, because my wife going France on 5 August to 30 August, .. do they ask for orginal passport for spouse...

Thanks a lot

I uploaded my passport copy new and old my ex partner passport copy all my payslips also my marriage and divorce certificate. Her p45 and mine and council tax statement of 3 years
Hi faizan
How long you been married for? And what visa you had before applying?
I applied 22nd April. Done biometrics same day. COA received 05th June and now waiting. I’m divorced but didn’t upload divorce certificate. There’s wasn’t any more space to upload more documents. Do you think I chase them about my application.
Thank you very much.

Hi jabir been married for 3 years and lived in UK for 5 years.

Use the sopra website which you might have used to book your biometrics appointment as there you can upload as many documents as you like

And keep calling them and if it’s been this long wait tell them you want to complaint as I feel my case was stuck somewhere when I made complaint yesterday at 12 in afternoon I received coa st 14:28 and decision this morning

Thank you for your reply. So you think I ring them and inform them I’m divorced as I didn’t upload any document relating this.
Thank you

Just received my Indefinite Leave/Settled Status. I am a non-EEA, non-EU, non-Swiss spouse (not living together but not legally separated) of an Irish person. I had NO BRC and only a well expired EEA Family Permit in my passport. I have been in the UK for 9 years.

Applied: 05/07/19
Biometrics appointment: 08/07/19
Certificate of Application: 19/07/19
Request for further documentation: 23/07/19
Outcome of Settled Status/Indefinite Leave: 23/07/19 (literally 5 minutes after I emailed my sponsor's National Insurance number for them to run the same automated check as for me)

They requested proof that my sponsor (Irish spouse) had resided in the UK for the last 5 years. I provided my sponsor's National Insurance Number and they did the same automated check they did for my application to get their tax/employment history. As part of my original application I included our marriage certificate (American).

Hello, what documents did you need to upload at the biometric appointment? Eg. Proof of residency etc.

Many thanks

We got an email that the card will be received within 7 days.

Does he card holder have to sign the card personally? Or can her sponsor (and at the same time family member) do it? Maybe if she signs an authorizing letter in advance?

What happens if she misses the delivery because she had to travel for a week?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. But does anyone know what you physically get once you're granted pre-settled status. I"m EEA and my wife is non-EEA; she has a biometric appointment in two weeks' time. But if she gets pre-settled status, do they send her a residence card? We just want to know for travelling in and out of the UK. What will she be able to use at immigration control to show she has pre-settled status? Thanks in advance, if anyone knows.

If she already had a BRC means plastic biometric not sticker then she will get status by email only and the same card she will use.

But if previously she was granted 5 years with sticker then this time she will get a BRC (card with chip).
{ I'm not a solicitor, legal professional or immigration advisor, all of my posts are based on my online search and my own PR, ILR (LR), 2 FTT and 2 UTT refused but finally after 3 years of long battle I got my SETTLED STATUS. }

Hello,

My permit was valid until March 2020 too but I've got my BRC yesterday. all I would suggest is that you call them and ask why it's taking so long to conclude on your Application.

The EU Resolution Centre staffs are very friendly and easy to communicate with.

Hello,

I missed my delivery yesterday due to no one been at home and re-arranged delivery using the DX website.

The BRC came this morning as I changed delivery location to my work instead of residential address.

Hope this helps :)

Hi I have got settled status and my 2 sons age 18 and 20 years old non EU came in UK just 2 years before and they got settled status also. My question can I apply their British Nationality after 1 year as mentioned in letter they can apply after 1 year of they got ILR. Some people told me I can't because they need to live 5 years in UK then they can apply for nationality. I'm confused please advise me. Thanks

I am just tagging my question to this thread as I have read at least 50% of this thread and couldn't really find examples.
I am currently on a Tier 2 visa and have been in the UK for 9 years (study + work). I am in a relationship with a EU national, we stayed together in the same flat for 3 years and have recently moved into our own apartment (joint owned by us).

I want to apply for settled status via the unmarried partner of EU citizen route. My girlfriend already has pre-settled status. I have already submitted my application but I should have thought this through a little better.

I have provided the Home Office with the following information in my application:
  • HMRC tax returns showing same address for both of us for 3 years
  • Title Deed of house in both our names
  • Council tax statements in both our names for 3 years
  • Bank statements in both our names for both of us for 3 years
They got back asking for a marriage certificate. I did not realise that I would have to do provide one as there was no where I could enter the conditions I wanted to apply under.
Is a residence card compulsory for applying under the unmarried partner route? Should I have applied for this soon-to-be redundant card first (i.e. if settled status approved the card is superseded right)?

Lastly, do people include photographs typically in their applications of the couple together during the 5 years (this appears typical of the Residence Card process). Also, if this is the case, when does my 5 years of settled status starts counting? From time we started being unmarried partners or from date we moved in together or from time of pre-settled status issuance?

Is a residence card compulsory for applying under the unmarried partner route?

Yes for direct family member ( Married Couple ) it's from Marriage Date
for Extended family member like unmarried partner it's from RESIDENCE CARD ISSUED DATE . if you don't have RC issued EU law then you can not apply Settled Status

You should apply 10 years long residence when your 10 years is complete under UK LAW

You can only count after RC issued date because you are unmarried. So you can apply settled status 5 years after PRE SETTLED RC issued date
UK Student Visa : 04/2004 - 09/2009
EEA Residence Card : 07/2010 - 7/2015
EU Settled Status: Confirmed on 16th July 2019
Naturalisation : Confirmed on 02nd Oct 2020
Passport Approval : 21st Feb 2021
