Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if someone has asked this question before, but I'd appreciate any helpful advice. I applied for a residence card for my Mum and sent it by recorded delivery on 11 April 2017. It was received by the Home Ofc on 12 April 2017. I checked the tracking history and confirmed this.

However, I still have not received any confirmation of receipt by the home office or a reference number from them. Is this normal or should I chase them up?

Is there a number or email where I can contact them asking about the status of my Mum's application? She also needs her documents back ASAP as she'll soon be travelling.

Thanks,
ceuqu

I applied for PR on 4th April, and I too did not receive the confirmation email.
I called 03001232253 and I was told that very often they do not send the email because
they are "inundated with applications". If you do require a reference number they suggest
you write them and request for one. I was told that the email is not required and if you do have confirmation that the bank transaction has gone through, its evidence enough.

ok thanks, I paid by postal order, so I guess that will do. I just want my mum's identity documents back ASAP, I'm not fussed about how long the application takes.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share my timeline. EEA national, arrived in the UK in 2009 for University, applied on the basis of 5 years as a student (no gaps). I used the online application form, and I sent my European ID card, as my passport was about to expire.

Application sent (online): 11.03.2017
Documents posted: 11.03.2017
Payment taken: 11.03.2017
Confirmation email from HO with case number: 13.03.2017
DCPR (and all documents) received: 02.05.2017 (dated 26.04.2017)

I sent my original EHIC (only one), together with an original document from my country's Healthcare Authority to confirm that my healthcare has been covered since 2009 (plus translation in English). I was worried about this, having read that many people have had problems with the health insurance requirement, but what I sent must have been sufficient. For the financial part, I only had a scholarship for some of my student years, so I included a scholarship letter from Uni and a declaration stating that I have not claimed benefits and have had sufficient funds to cover me during my time as a student, witnessed and co-signed by a notary public. I also included enrollment letters from my Uni for each year. For proof of residence, I sent bank statements (online copies printed and stamped in my local branch), utility bills, tenancy agreements and letters from City Council (no more than 4 documents per year).

This forum was a great source of information throughout the (frustrating, tedious) process.

Good luck everyone!

Great to tease us all when you get your docs in little over a month..
I dint read about this when the application was sent or perhaps it was
posted but I dint read.
This post seemed like a perfect taunt to the hapless people who dint
have and are unable to procure the documents required.

I sent my application on 28th March and the payment has been taken by the Home Office from my card.
However, I haven't got any email, ID or any other communication about my application.
I need my passport back as I am self employed and must undertake a work outside of UK by end of May. All phone numbers I searched are driving me to any other Home Office service, but there is no contact that I can talk directly to them about this. I have sent an email to them, without no response either.
Does someone have a clue what I could do in this scenario?
It is ridiculous that they hold your passport for an unlimited period of time and they do not provide a reasonable way to communicate with them.

Use their documents returned page to request for your passport or other document

Non EU:
Application sent 03/10/2016
Application received 04/10/2016
Money taken by HO 06/10/2016
BM done 24/10/2016
COA received 31/10/2016
PR Received 04/05/2017
Took exact 7 months I did involve my local MP I suppose that pushed HO. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

EU national:

Application completed (online): 13/03/2017
Confirmation email from HO: 14/03/2017
Application sent (using Local Authority passport return service): 17/03/2017
Application received: 20/03/2017
Confirmation email from HO: 02/05/2017

I'm slightly confused about the 2nd confirmation email. I assume the first one was to confirm the online application, the second to confirm they've actually opened the envelope with all the document I sent them? The confusing part is that the two confirmation emails have different reference numbers...

Anyway, it shows that even when they do send out confirmation emails, even that can take 6 weeks...

Still no COA (non-eea) 15 days after submitted biometrics. . . They certainly do like to make us wait! Anyone else waited over two weeks?

me (non-EU) and my husband (EU) applied for Permanent residence via european passport return service

1) we completed our online application online on 1 of April
2) we received email with case ID after completing application
3) we sent our documents via European passport return service and they game us paper confirmation that documents were sent

From that moment we have no emails, no letters, no updates. Now is 07 Of May we heard nothing.
I'm confused why I haven't received any biometric appointment letters and should I?
I also plan to look for another job but clearly I have no documents to proof that I have permit to work.

Did anyone received any letters or biometric appointments if submitted the documents via European passport return service?

It took 6 weeks for our non-eu biometrics/email to arrive. . 8 weeks and still no coa. They're taking their time with non European applications. .

Hi there, congratulation with getting the PR! Well done.

Can you please share more details about how to get the MP to expedite the application? I've applied in January(NON-EEA) and have to get my passport back before August so worried that they can delay it and I'll get it later than after 6 months(saw few cases on the board here were passport has been returned after 7-8months)

Or if anyone on the board here knows how to get MP to help with the application - I would be grateful for the info.

Best of luck all!

Thanks! By letter, we missed out the delivery and had to go to the post office to find out it was sent by the HO - I almost fainted hehe. In a big envelope, they sent back all supporting documents and decision letters for both EEA and non_EEA national along with a letter which states since when the EEA is a 'permanent resident'. The non-EEA biometric card will arrive within 10 working days since that latter was issued - I guess this will be posted to us as well. It's been a roller coaster but well worth the wait :)
