Re: Settled status processing times

Post by joeyjb » Tue Feb 12, 2019 9:03 am

Hi ALL, I just wanna share our experienced.

EEA national and Non EU application for settled status.

1. EEA national with PR granted last year:
Application sent: 05/02/2019
COA received straight away via email.
Outcome settled status received next morning 06/02/2019 ILR granted. (Less than 24 hours).

2. Non EU national family member; PR just granted recently and applied for settled status after 2 days.
Application sent: 06/02/2019
COA received straight away
Outcome settled status received: 11/02/2019
ILR granted. (I attached supporting documents on the apps max 10 evidence as family member).

Hope that helps! (-:

Hello,
Browsing these forums has helped me a lot over the years so I just wanted to share our experience with this new Surinder Singh route process.

1st applicant: EU National living in UK for 10+ years with no PR card:
- Application completed on the 07/02/2019 (around 4 pm)
I had to submit additional evidence (max is 10 documents) of my residence in the UK over the past 5 years, which has to be scanned and attached to the website: submitted 5 council tax bills and 5 mortgage statements.
- Email confirming application received a few minutes later
- Letter confirming settled status and ILR received on 08/02/2019 (the next morning around 9 am)

2nd applicant, Non EU National living in UK for 10+ years with 5 years RCs as EU National family member (current one dated 2016)
- Application completed: 08/02/2019 (Friday)
Had to provide proof of relationship with EU national: submitted marriage certificate
- Letter confirming settled status and ILR received on 11/02/2019 (Monday)

So both received in less than 24 hours really. The process was pretty straight forward, the only issue was one of our phones (Samsung Galaxy A6) could not read the chip in passports and RC, but this was no issue with a Sony Experia L1.

Good luck!

EU citizen full time employed for past ten years, HMRC record matching did not work for some reason, 6 years of evidence uploaded (council tax bills)

App sent 24/01
settled status received 11/02

Hi Rob,

I had serious concerns about the practicalities of the scheme. and I stand by all my previous comments. I Was right about all my predictions as far as I understand the matter. I will post a full update on Monday or Tuesday on. what I can say at the moment is that is it is a catch 22 situation for those with over 5 years in the U.K but less than 5 years under a RC or EU passport.

here is the latest up date on the scheme from the HO addressed to the House of commons/ House of Parliament.

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... Letter.pdf

at the moment the H.O is processing about 20,000 cases a week. so about 1 million a year. with 21% of the case without decision. still a 3.4 years to process all. but achievable. specially if the H.O improves it capacity.

Good Lucky Everyone.

Both me (non-EU) and my wife (EU citizen) applied for EU settlement scheme yesterday 17/02/19 around 6:30 pm. Today we both got our settled approval letter just before 9:00am this morning. I applied with my pr card and wife with passport, no other evidence. Quite quick and straight forward.
Good luck guys!

I have the feeling the HO don't know what to do with me.

My EU partner and I applied through the app on Jan 21st, first him, then me, I included his application number in mine (linked them), and we both got informed our application would be considered for Settled Status. We both got CoA immediately, on the same day.

Within 48 hours, he got his confirmation of Settled status. I'm still waiting. I have a biometric RC as his extended family member, and I've got more than 7 years of NI records in the UK.

Here's my timeline:

2009-2011: Tier 4 Student visa (1.5 years)
2011-2013: Tier 1 Post Study Visa (2 years)
2013-2016: Tier 2 Employer-sponsored Work Visa (3 years)
2016-2021: EEA RC (valid for 5 years, but lost in 2018)
2018-2023: EEA RC (valid for 5 years, replacing lost card above) - (effective 3 years 2016 - 2019)

In theory I should have been given Pre-settled status immediately, as I have had a RC card for 3 years and we attached my application to my partner, but this hasn't happened. Wonder why. I thought the HO would have all info they need?

Or... I'm thinking they don't know what to do with me, because the app decided to submit me as Settled status (I have NI records since I started working, so, since 2013, circa 7 years), yet I only have 3 years on the EEA RC (in theory qualifying me only for pre-Settled status).

Anyone in a similar position (non-EU family member, holder of biometric RC) has had any confirmation of status, or know how long this takes after their EU family member has had theirs?
Kamoe, Any update??

It's bit annoying! They didn't give atime frame either. Most of the cases outcome was very fast

But mine is not like most cases, is it? :P
It is a bit annoying, but... there is absolutely no urgency.

I'm still having some hope that if it's taking so long it's because it's not a straightforward Pre-settled case, and that I could be granted Settled status (although that is not what the experience of other cases tells us).

Just thinking how silly it is that they have simply not thought this through with clear guidelines to deal with non-EU with over 5 years in different visas, as to have to escalate our cases. It's clearly a trend, I know of at least 5 people who have waited substantially more than most applications, and its always that same profile.

What I believe is our cases are straight forward if they start counting from the day of issuing UKRC!

When someone is living here for more than 5 years and system offered them pre-settled status but when they provide more evidence of living then case worker Grant it as settled status. Same should have been implemented to our case as well! Though system offer us settled status but evidence says Pre settled it should go this way

I am a non eu husband. Me and my Eu wife just applied last night as she is here since 08/2014
So she selected pre settle status I have selected settled status as I am here since 2011 they could not locate my hmrc record automatically so I had to provide my bank statement as resident evidence and marriage certificate as a approval of relationship! I have applied with my RC (Not PR) which issued in December 2015.. I am afraid I will get pre settle status too????? I have got my COA straight away.
