Hey Paschal, did your wife apply from Lagos or Abuja? and when did she apply. I thought they have started speeding things up now.

try and contact your MP, i did same and the MP called them few times and the hurried them up, although they refused the visa due to not submitting my bank statement. by my wife has since reapplied over a month ago, still waiting. the first application was on the 6th of July. she applied in Abuja. their processing time has been reduced for applications processed in November.

I do not know if Dokie, another guy on this forum whose wife applied also from Nigeria has received a decision yet.

My MP said I should contact him after 6 months if the Home Office do not make a decision.

So am really worried and thinking about asking to get back my wife’s passport in other to apply for her to come to Italy.

Dont quit now, wait till January 28, that would make it 6 months. Again you are not living in Italy now, how sure are you that the Italian Visa will be quicker, I heard that schengen visas take long now in Naija. I thought about doing same when my wife's first refusal came, but later decided to reply and see.

Hello,
I'm not sure anyone has news fro naija apart from the one that was refused earlier.
It's a bit frustrating but what can we do!
They've held my passport since July21, I've called 3 times and it's the same old story.
I wish I could sleep and wake up when this nightmare is over. This is my worst Christmas ever. I spent most of the day consoling a crying wifey. Guyz u don't want to know. However. I won't stop believing. Sometimes I wonder what they checking? Probably my grandfathers grave and my ancestors grave. I've read on this. Forum someone got it it 13 working days last month and it's taken 113 days for me and much more for some others.
Waiting close to 6 months for. 6 months visa haba? ( pardon my naija mannerisms) how long will it take to get the residence card of 4.5years? Another 4.5 years waiting time?
I will stop ranting now and see how long it's going to take?
Once again happy new year to everyone waiting and NEVER STOP BELIEVING

Bro, I beleieve they are investigating my whole lineage. I studied there, was on a tier 5 visa b4 I returned home! What more do they need ?
It's bloody frustrating but can I can only laugh pray and hope for the best. They have all my details and I don't think there's much to investigate
To everyone that have just received their FP
Once again congratulations. Enjoy your time with family. Hopefully soon, we will share our good news with you all.

Another question is what is the difference if applying for Residence Card holding a FP or without one.
The difference is that the facts have already been investigated when a FP is granted. The courts have held that it is inappropriate to reassess the facts when such an assessment has already been made.

I think they should issue a FP on the border passing if all the documents are alright. Does someone know something about that? Why do people go by ground and get the FP and not the airport? There should apply the same rules on border passing.
The difference is that UK law does not apply to French or Belgian port authorities - the port authorities cannot be fined for allowing people to reach the UK immigration officers. EU law applies to the actions of UK immigration officers. The reason some people need a family permit is that airlines and ferry companies can be fined if people reach UK Immigration with what are considered 'adequate' documents.
