Hello guys.

My wife has got her visa.

Am so happy for it.

Already booked her flight to Uk.

Now I have one question her visa says D- EEA FP: FAMILY MEMBER to join: my name...

With this permit can she travel to ITALY with me or does she need a visa.?

Thanks

180 working days still waiting.
Hi Merzit,
Did you involve SOLVIT ?

For me it's day 144, and I got SOLVIT involved and it's the 10th week since ... which is their "regular" timeline on SOLVIT side, but still nothing so far :(.
What’s solvit involved? Just i spend 144£ on callings the gov and I didn’t received any answer just wsit another 15 days... I am waiting close to 10 months for one stupid visa!!! This should be a prank or anything.
Do not be afraid to take a big step , a precipice hopping is not passed.

SOLVIT is en entity from the European commision to help solve problems regarding EU rights.
You can try to let them know about your case, and they will follow up with home office.
See here http://ec.europa.eu/solvit/

I don't know what it's worth, but I guess everything that could help is to be tried.

Cheers, and hang in there.

Congratulations Paschal!

My understanding was that as long as she is travelling with you, she doesn't need to get a Schengen visa to go to other European countries. If she decides to travel by herself then she will need to go through the normal immigration process of that country.

Good day everyone, I've been following this forum for over 5 months, since I found it. Actually it has been my comforter over these last few months, especially when I read about people getting their visa, it gave me hope.
Though it's my first message, after getting my visa I decided to comment maybe others might get hope thru it. My timeline is:
I'm EU citizen and my wife, s Nigerian. She applied at Abuja on 03/08/2017.
15/08/17: email from Ukvi informing receipt of visa application and awaiting decision.
20/08/17: not straightforward email.
30/08/17: I made a phone call to know reason for delay and was told that my application was escalated n would receive email from Ukvi, which I didn't.
10/10/17: I sent an email for second escalation n received the usual blablabla that they were working on it.
03/01/2018: sent an email for the third escalation, received reply, still working on it.
29/01/2018: another email but by this time I was fed up with the whole issue that I bore my mind in the email accusing them of being heartless n inconsiderate. I was really mad n I made them knew about it, of course without insulting them neither did I beg them as I used to. This time they replied that they were gonna pass it to the shift manager, never heard of that before then.
05/02/2018: email from TLS that decision taken n passport posted back to me. Didn't even receive email from Ukvi informing me n I was worried.
07/02/2018: passport received with visa dated 31/01/2018.
I'm so happy after this long wait. At the end 190 days, 133 working days.
I just wanna use this opportunity to encourage those still in this mess. Have faith it will soon be Ur turn to give a testimony.

99% of the Airlines will not board you if you don't have a visa or a Residence Card, some people succeeded to be admitted in the Schengen Area but arriving by train or by car, it's really unlikely that you can board a plane without a document that certifies that you are a family member of a union citizen.

So her current visa EEA FP TO JOIN A FAMILY MEMBER is not enough?

No because it's a UK visa, and the UK visa system is separated from the Schengen visa system.

Hi, guys.

Bad news for me, after 4 months of waiting, I get the mail today that tell me my EEA FP was refused because lack of evidence of any historical documentary for my marriage . For god of sake, i gave them our 4 years of paid taxes with both our names on it. Our joined bank account statement , but it's not enough...
So I decide i will go through the eurotunnel with my husband as soon as i get my passport back.
So anyone who has or knows how to get through the tunnel please share the info with me.
Also if i'm lucky enough to pass the tunnel, can I apply the resident permit in UK as soon as possible?
Thanks!
