Hi
seems surinder singh application is picking up. friend applied paper application as follows

applied september 2019
biometrics september 2019
coa october 2019
uk brc 5 years granted jan 2020
Indeed hopefully picking up...

Called for paper forms in mid-November 2019 (for pre-settled status - been here for 2 years with spouse)
Got paper forms on 22/12/2019 in the post - took over 4 weeks!!!
Sent out application on 27/12/2019 (special delivery) with passports and BRC (expiring next month...)
Got passports and BRC back today, 11/1/2020 alongside letter (dated 7/1/2020) requesting biometrics
Will do the biometrics on Monday and keep you posted...
Thanks so much for all those who posted a timeline and advice, it really does help others in a similar situation.

Does anyone know if biometrics can only be given at post office? The nearest one that does biometrics is 1.30 hours away from me (I live in Cornwall) but of course will take the trip on Monday if that's the only way forward...

I had to go to a Post Office in Birmingham which was a 30 minute train ride from me. You can do a search and find the one nearest to you. I had hoped I could have gone around the corner from my house but nope.

Thank you Birkeneve - good to know that the search is reliable - the one I found was 1:30 hours away but don't want to get there and be told they don't do it...

They are the same thing. Pre-settled is what you get if you have been in the UK less than 5 years.

My timeline:

Application form completed and returned: September 27, 2019 (sent by registered mail)
Application form received by Home Office: September 30, 2019
Biometrics letter received: October 8, 2019 and given the same day. Passport returned but not my residence card from Norway.
Certificate of Application: October 27, 2019
Pre-Settled Status: January 3, 2020. Received a phone call to confirm my address and the caseworker said I would get an answer later in the afternoon. Could finally check the status by passport number. Received pre-settled and waiting for my other documents to be returned.
@seekingadvice87 I don't think anyone can answer your question above - your friend needs to call the EU settlement office and ask!

@birkeneve what is a Certificate of Application? Is that a piece of paper that shows that you are here legally while waiting for the "outcome"? Also, as Canadians, do we get some kind of card (BRC/BRP) with the settled/pre-sattled status?

I got a biometrics card yep. The COA is just a receipt that they have received your application and you get to use the same rights you have now. The renting agency I used wanted a copy of my proof of pre-settled though.
I think under Surinder Singh route that we are not Canadians but family members of EU citizens.

I think it’s just to make it easier to come and go. You can prove your right to reside by sending a link to whoever needs the proof. In my case, I applied for child benefits and I printed instructions with a generated pincode for them to look up that info. I’m not letting my brc out of my sight!

Quick question...

Section 7 of the form I have completed one section which confirms "current relationship to the qualifying British Citizen: Spouse or civil partner"

Apparently the required evidence for section 7 is: "Evidence of your current relationship to the qualifying British citizen".

Would this just be our marriage certificate? We are applying for pre-settled based on my wife's BRP. I'm not sure if this is enough to satisfy the required evidence in section 7, or whether I need the marriage certificate or possibly something else?

A marriage certificate is needed. I also sent a registration of proof of address and our daughter’s birth certificate. I didn’t send much else like photos or gym membership cards etc.

I made an application for Pre-settled status for my wife. She currently holds an EEA residence card issued to her under the 2016 EEA Regulations.

Application received date: 30th October 2019
Biometrics: Not required
COA: Received on 8th November 2019 (Dated 4/11/19) with her passport
Decision: COA states it will be issued shortly

Will let the forum know when we get the decision.
Had a call from the caseworker today stating that my wife is eligible for pre-settled status. They told me to reply to an email they were going to send me so that they can have it in writting whether we were happy to proceed with it.

I was also told we should receive our supporting documents back shortly and that they won't be issuing another biometric residence card because my wife's exisitng EEA residence card is still valid until 2023. They will however issue a replacement one when she qualifies for settled status next year.

Good idea with the birth certificate. Our daughter was born 2 weeks ago, so that should be good evidence of a relationship.

My passport was returned within a week of applying and my pre-settled status letter with my Norwegian residence permit plus copies of my documents were sent when I got approval. I didn’t send originals of those.

Anyone applying last September is still waiting for a decision? We've received the COA at the beginning of November. It's almost 3 months since that, still, nothing. Called HO twice, got an official answer of 'no timeline can be given' every single time. 5 years RC will be expiring next month... :(

Hello.

I also received my CoA the first week of november and still havent heard of them. I phoned the EU Settlement Resolution Center last week and they stated that my application is in "Stage 2", they just approved the ID stage so far.. I dont know what second stage means but again they said this can take up to 6 months.. good luck to everyone!

We are also waiting to hear outcome of our pre-settled status application (paper form for Surinder Singh applicants). We got our COA on 7 November 2019. Since then we have heard nothing from the Home Office. I have just sent in a question asking about the status of our application. Sounds like it is a slow process! Good luck everyone.

Thank you all guys for updating your status here. We are very much on the same timeline. Not aware of what 'stage 2' means either as Mdml07 mentioned. I will contact them again at the beginning of Feb. Hope the results end up well. Good luck everyone.

Application received date: 16.10. 2019
Biometrics: Not required
COA: Received on 21.10.2019 with her passport, COA states it will be issued shortly
Outcome: waiting???
Not heard anything since, despite of making numerous calls.

Do you guys think it’s worth the hassle to fill this(https://eu-settled-status-enquiries.ser ... r-question)

I would like to take the opportunity thanking immigrationboards teams, as they have been a great help for our journey. Many thanks

Finally have some updates for the applications. I can see my parents' settled status online now. Seems their detail has been booked into the system and approved just today. Obviously the caseworkers update the system before sending the post. Haven't received any email or call from them in the meantime.

It is a big relief. Hopefully, you guys with similar timeline will have a result fairly soon.
