Hi , just a small update regarding my friend's application which he applied in October last year. Every time he tried to view his status online he used to see the following message,
'Sorry these details do not melt our records'. But today when he checked his status it gave him an option to send a code on his phone or email. When he entered that code then he happened to view the following message.

'Sorry we can not find your status.
This might be your application is still under progress etc'.

He is absolutely worried because of this of this because he fears his application may have been refuse because he thinks his application has been in progress since October 2019 why didnt 'application is under progpress message showed before.

Could I ask other members of this topic please whose application is under progress would you please try and view your status online and post your experience here that what kinda message you can view online. Bundle of thanks.
Hello,

This happened to me for my partner's application, it was the exact same wording and requesting a code via email. I also thought it was a refusal but a couple of days passed and they received their pre-settled status! Tell your friend not to worry :)

Thank you Jamma. I emailed them let's see when will receive a reply.

He will have to apply for a pre-setteled, and we are thinking of maybe wait a bit until he is 5 years here to apply straight for settled status.

The whole issue with the new demand for CSI is just making us a bit anxious.

Hi all,

I applied for the settle status about 6 months ago. However, I am still awaiting for a decision.

Here is my timeline

Form received by HO: 10th of Sept 2019
Form Sent:24th Sept 2019
Passport returned: 30th Sept 2019
Biometrics letter received: 30th Sept 2019
Biometrics enrolled: 30th Sept 2019
COA: 26th Oct 2019
Approval email received: ***Waiting***
BRC received (Pre-settled status): ***Waiting***

I contacted my MP last week, and 2 days ago I received an email from her saying they contacted the Home Office and they should receive a response in 20 days.

Let's see what happens, this situation is being frustrating and is causing some anxiety issues. :(
Hi everyone,

Here we go again with my timeline. As we you know I have been waiting for over 8 months, last week my manager wrote me a notice letter saying that my permanent Job contract was gonna be voided in September 20, if I I haven't had a confirmation about my visa status.

After receiving this letter last week, I forwarded it to my MP who contacted the Home Office again last Wednesday and gave them the notice I received from my manager.

So I received my Settled status last Friday 29/05/2020, it has been a heard time to me and to be honest I thought I would lost my job. If you have been waiting for over 3 months, I would strongly suggest you to contact your local MP and get them to help you, otherwise you will keep waiting forever.

Timeline:

Form received by HO: 10th of Sept 2019
Form Sent:24th Sept 2019
Passport returned: 30th Sept 2019
Biometrics letter received: 30th Sept 2019
Biometrics enrolled: 30th Sept 2019
COA: 26th Oct 2019
Approval email received: Email received from my MP confirming my Settle Status was granted o 29/05/20 ps: no email received from the HO
BRC received (Pre-settled status): Spoke to the HO over the phone this morning and I was informed it might take up to 10 days.

I wish you all good luck and hope you get your decision soon.

Big congrats, @Nol. This system has a total lack of transparency, it is bordering on evil... needing an MP to chase up a right you have is unreal. But yes, I know this is how it works, sadly. All is well that ends well!

Thanks @canadian, I know this is not fear how they're playing with our lives and right. But to move things quickly you need to have a politician involved, otherwise they will get what they want 'you to give up' and leave the country. Good luck with your application and hope you get some good news soon ;)

Anyone submitted their paper application in early December for settled status, received a decision yet? We got our COA dated Jan 09th, straight forward case, five years living here, all documents proving eligibility and still married.
I'm about to escalate our complaint to a senior staff member but I wanted to check with others first.
Thanks everyone

Thanks Mike. I'm concerned that the COA have an 'expiry' after 6 months of being issued. If you follow the progress on this, you'll see they ask if the COA is less than 6 months. https://www.immigrationstatuscheck.service.gov.uk. so what now when the 6 months is up, will they issue another letter? Or my wife will lose her job on the account of the home office lackadaisical methods of working

@Islandson I had the same thought and wrote a strongly worded email to the EU Settlement Scheme (I am a journalist and would love to do a story on my experience... it's been just under 6 months since application for me so am waiting for the actual 6 months to write about it). This is the reply I got, in case it is helpful to you:

Thank you for contacting the EU Settlement Resolution Centre about your application.

We understand that you are enquiring about the progress of your application.

Having checked out records, we can confirm that your application has been submitted successfully. This was acknowledged via an email sent to you on 30th January 2020.

Thanks @Canadian. Your wording is slightly different but the gist is the same. Basically 'be patient and let us work'. There's an email they provided to us if we were not satisfied with their response, complaintsreview@homeoffice.gov.uk. We've sent this off recently (2nd complaint) also mentioning that we have contacted our MP. I am not EU nor British born and I have been dealing with the home office now for 20 years in visa matters. This is by far the worse I have experienced.

Thanks @Islandson - the UK is the least transparent immigration system I've ever encountered - and I was a Consul myself, for my own country. It is bordering on negligent - but not sure there is much to be done about it other than contact an MP (which I find to be a huge waste of public funds, MPs should not be inundated with individual immigration applications if they are to do their work properly) or 'escalate' for a review at the home office.

Having lived in several developing countries, in Africa and South America - the system in the UK is the worst. Sad but true.

i read tribunal verdict that British citizen dont need to be working or have economic activity to support a family member on surinder singh application please asking senior member to comment.

Hi guys,

As you know after almost 9 months waiting, I was granted the settled status.

Before this outcome, I was looking into open a JR. So reading the process of it, it says you need to advise/notify the HO you will be doing it.

I also was told, sometimes there might be some something else that could be holding my application. Thus I was told to request a SAR 'subject access request' for what the HO holds, and specify I'd like to have access to the notes of my current application.

I received it after my applications was completed, I actually could see the front desk people of the EU Settlement Scheme are doing their job really well and trying to help by flagging all complaints to the quality team, so the problem is with the caseworkers who I believed are not enough efficient. What's more their system holds different information which makes things more complicated.

If you have been waiting over 4 months for a decision, it's worth it to make a SAR on your files and see what is stopping a decision to be made on your application.

Here is the link https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... mmigration

Hope it helps.

Good luck guys!!

Hi everyone, so after contacting our MP two weeks ago, and last week asking the EU settlement scheme for information to write a newspaper article (I am a journalist) about my experience, today my pre-settled status is visible online...
I wonder if there is any connection...

Thanks so much to everyone here for your support over the past months. Here is my updated timeline:

Surinder Singh Pre-settled 2020
Form requested by phone from EU Settlement Scheme: Mid-November 2019
Form received mid-December and sent off 27/12/2019
Form received by HO: 28th Dec 2019
Biometrics letter received: 11th January 2020
Biometrics enrolled (Plymouth): 13th January 2020
COA: 31 January 2020 - Brexit day!
contacted MP - 29 May 2020
7 June 2020 - Wrote an email to EU settlement scheme asking for more details and timesline, for an article I am writing for the international media about how UK is not respecting its EU free movement commitment in preparation for the withdrawal agreement
12 June 2020 Online status shows as 'application in progress'
15  June 2020 Pre settled Status visible online

Good luck, everyone - don't give up!

Congratulations Canadian!!! Yes, there is a connection, you've got to keep pressing the system until it changes. Well done and you have given hope to everyone else.

As you've said, 'don't give up' everyone.

So today the forms arrived in the post, 60 pages of pure joy :)))

I really do not understand why - seeing that the HO previously granted me a RC via Suridner Sing route - we are asked to send ALL that information yet again (supporting documents about our life in EU country, BC's activity there etc).
We will send it all of course, but I thought that the whole purpes of 'personalised' documents was to avoide all that process.

And on a positive note: We called and ordered the form on June 11, they arrived today, so 4 days.

Please keep sharing your experiences, I'll hang around here for a while longer. Hoping for positive and swift outcomes for all of you!
