Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

My Partner applied for settled status on 03 November 2020 on Paper Application Form SURINDER SINGH CASE. THE HOME OFFICE Received next day it was sent by special delivery. we came together back to the UK November 2015 with 6 months INK stamped on her passport and she was granted RESIDENCE CARD on June 2016.
Last week I spoke with EU resolution Centre asking about Biometric data and COA.
He said she will not get Biometric Letter because she has got RC,
But the decision will take longer up to 6 months because of the pandemic Covid 19

Surinder Singh Applications for EU setteld/pre setteld status take 6 months to process regardless of coronoa (surely the pandemic isn't helpful here). There is no way that I know of to speed the process.

Just to let you know dear members that Pre Setteld status for a Surinder Singh applicant was sucessful and we got it 5.5 months after submiting the paper form.

And here our timetable (not sure where the timetable thread disappeard to A big thank you for all the helpful members who assisted me with it.


Surinder Singh Paper Application form / Pre settled Status

June 11 phoned EU Settlement centre and ordered paper forms
June 15 received personalised forms
June 19 sent the paper application in recorded delivery
June 26 coa & passports returned
December 1 received pre settled + documents (status granted nov 25)

Application for settled Status (ILR) submitted on 03/11/2020
04/12/2020 Passports and BRC returned
asking for new facial image because the photo was out of date.
We will take by mobile camera a photo and email to them.

Hi why surinder singh cases taking so long? friend case is surrinder singh. applied on november 2020 using online and not paper form because they not know about. paper. they use id exit app and now home office approve application last week. in total took less than one month from 11 nov 2020 to 4 dec 2020 for successful eu settlement application. some case faster than other case

I contacted EU RC on Saturday 05th December 2020, I asked too questions, she said no biometric for my partner as she has RC not expired Yet it will expire June 2021.
she will can confirm that Facial image now on application form.
your application now with caseworkers team,
decision will be by email look your email address regularly for any thing may be caseworker ask for it.
she I dont know how long will take decision.
No COA received Yet,
BRC still valid and can be used after 31 December 2020 IIIIFFFF settled status granted,
I will update the forum if any news receive.

I find it to be very strange, that they were able to apply AND receive status, using app and not a paper form, if indeed a surinder singh case.
When I asked I was told that in SS cases, the case worker has to validate the documents received from the other eu country and that takes time. (I totally agree that 6 months, especially as it was already submited for the BRC when first arrived here, is not justified, but what do I know...)

The justification given is rubbish. Because even those with PR or a Residence card under EU law, for which no documents needs sending or verified, are having to wait for 6 months.

So the notion that documents are being verified for all Surinder Singj applicants and this takes time is simply mostly false, as a significant proportion of SS applicants already have residence documents for which verification would have been done before issuance.

I couldn't agree more with you. It is ridiculous and sounds like a poor excuse (this is the reason that was given to our MP, when he wrote to the resolution centre)

I am the non-EU spouse of a British national. I received CoA for Settled Status dated 24/08/2020. To date I have not received any update or resolution. I have called twice the SRC (EU Settlement Resolution centre) only to be told that they have all my details and I just need to wait. Bummer!

I am surprised there has been no legal action against the Home Office arguing that the paper application route has caused a severe disadvantage to British nationals and their family members (the applicants) compared to all other applicants to the EUSS who have been able to submit their applications via the mobile app, hence obtaining their new settled or pre-settled status sometimes in as little as 4 or 5 days.

Agree. At times I do feel as if we, BC are being punished for marrying a non eu citizen. I think it shows how much the HO does not like the idea of people using the SS route.I am not sure how many non-eu members using the SS are there at all and I am aware that it has beeing abused.

EU settlement scheme team sending biometric for friend of mine to enrol at UKVCAS, and the Friend today contacted EURC and they said we are not using POST OFFICE ANY MORE.

Can I ask you when did you submit your application for settled status?
Do you think I (my partner) also applied for settled status on 03 November 2020 but COA yet?

So happy to confirm my husband received his presettled status this morning!

We sent his paper application at the end of August and received his COA dated 09/09/20. So less than 4 months since that date. I hope this gives some of you hope! After reading this board, we didn’t expect to receive anything until March! Also I had asked about travelling out of the UK in a previous post once the COA and passport are returned. The EU resolution centre advised us it would be fine and my husband did travel to Peru in September for three weeks. I didn’t affect his application and he reentered using his family permit.

Application received by Liverpool: 11.12.2020
Acknwledgement Letter Received from Home Office:30.12.2020
Biometric Done at the Local Post Office , Free of Charge: 30.12.2020

If you already have a residence card

Until 30 June 2021, you can still use your card to:

help you re-enter the country more quickly and easily if you travel abroad
show employers you’re allowed to work in the UK
help prove you qualify for certain benefits and services

any update about settled status for surinder singh cases.

Surinder sing paper application approved bio in November 4th.pre settlementstatus approved email received 18th feb.received bio matric atd today.
