eea2 application when eea national is student

Post by adrianbash » Sat Sep 22, 2007 1:23 pm

hey guys, am having a problem that is twisting my head. hope u can help.
my wife i s french national, she used to work fully about a year a go but when in to full time education, she decided to study english for a year and passed well we have the certificates. She is enrolled on a management course now and has all the documents. I am a non eea and would love to apply for an eea 2 but under the section 6 of the form it says if the EEA national is a student its fine to apply but u need to show her enrolment letter which i have and is fine. The problem is they also ask for evidence she can sponsor her self LIKE a scolarship, grant or bank statement. we only have her bank statement which is not so huge, its only about 4000 pounds on it. she isnt on benefites and has paid her tuition already. I on the other hand are sponsored by my parents back home to study and i work part time durring school time and fully in the vaction. so we not struggling.

can anyone advise me what to do for the application. someone once told me only her statement (a written one) is enoughother than a bank statement but the form requires one so am confused. please advise soon as iam applying now.

please can someone tell me what the certificate of application states exactly...i mean what authority it gives you, what u can and cant do.

i know av written alot but thanks for reading and hope ypu can help or give reference

4000 pounds should do well as the tuition fees has already been taken care of. Apply with 3 months bank statement showing that you are financially self-sufficient and wait for 2 weeks to see what the 'Certificate of Application' says. It entitles you to work, and if they ask for any further proof, by then hopefully you would have your employemnt to boost your accounts as well.

Send certified copy of your passport as you will need the original one to hunt for work and apply for NI number.
