am i eligible to apply for benefits ?

Hi thetre,

I am working 58 hours per week and earning about £28000 per annum before tax and NI. I have got indefinite leave to remain, got two children they are British citizens but my wife is still my dependent because she could not pass the life in the UK test at the time we applied for indefinite. i am getting child benefits at the moment can i apply any other benefits as well if can than what are those and most importantly will it effect my wife visa extension in 2018.

You can't (or shouldn't) normally work more than 48hours per week:

Most people do as we sign out of that.

What is your wife's salary? Income based benefits will be worked out on both parents salary.

Most of us do. We just sign out of that.

Thanks for reply dear but it says that you can opt out of the 48 hours rule i asked HMRC they say you can claim even if you are working that many hours. i am only worried about my wife because she is my dependent and child tax credit would not affect her visa extension.
