Am I eligible to switch to Tier 2General from Tier 2 ICT LTS

Dear friends,
I am in desperate need for some information regarding switching to Tier 2 general.

Came to UK on 6th April 2010 (visa issued from 22/03/2010) in Tier 2 (INT COM TRAN) Visa, lived in UK till 3rd Apr 2012.
After 6 months, Came to Uk again on 27th Oct 2012 (visa valid from 16th Oct 2012) in Tier 2 ICT long term staff migrant visa. Currently in UK and visa expires in Apr 2014.

Prior to that i have lived in the uk for 9 months through a WP in 2007 and later visited UK in business visa for 6 months (2 terms) in 2010 before coming via ICT.

Am I eligible to switch to Tier 2 general from Uk itself?

If you were granted entry clearance in Oct 2012 then unfortunately you are not eligible to switch to T2G.

I have got one more query, I will be grateful if your could clarify the same.

I have been speaking to few consultants here, who are willing to provide sponsorship to me. As you have already clarified that I can not migrate to T2G directly, If I go back to India, will I be eligible to apply for T2G immediately? or there is a cooling period?

you will be subject to 12 months cooling-off
