Emergency Travel Documents

Hi there,

I am just wondering if anybody knows how long it takes to sort out emergency travel documents?

My partner is currently in a detention centre following a prison sentence. Next week he is signing to go back to Kurdistan voluntarily under the FRS (Facilitated Returns Scheme). The problem is that he doesn't have his original Iraqi/Kurdish passport. He has his ID card that he had from when he came to the UK in 2000, it is all written in Arabic but i am guessing the Iraqi Embassy can translate it.

Does anybody know approximately how long it takes to sort out emergency travel documents if he hands over his ID card? Or if there is anything we can do ourselves to speed up the process?
