My employer terminating my contract, what happens 2 my visa?

Hi,

I am on Tier-2 general (work permit) visa in UK which is for 3 years (got it through my employer for 3 year contract). But my employer is terminating my job now that is after 15 months....What will happen to my visa and what is the best I can do to stay in UK for as long as I can??

It would be very helpful if I can get a swift reply.

It says that they permit me to stay for 60 days...if I dont find a new employer with in this time, I may have to go for a new application..Is there any other option (any kind of visa?) that I may possibly get to stay for around 6 months to 1 year??

Theoretically you can become a student and get a Tier 4 visa. However, you'll lose the time you accumulated towards settlement and may still need to leave the country for a short time as courses normally start in beginning of October or January.
