My employer wants to send me to Ireland but...

Post by xcmouth99 » Thu Feb 17, 2005 4:55 am

ok this may be a new story but anyway last year i lived and worked in ireland for a while under a studetn work permit and went back to the US to complete my final year of college. I graduate this spring and want to go back to Ireland. However i know that the student work permits you get through bunnac are only good for 4 months. Well my marathon coach wants to expand his fitness company into Irealnd from the US. He knows i want to go over thier and try and set up some kind of operation thier for him. However it would be a part time operation at most. Is it possible for my coaches company to get me a permit that will allow me to stay in Ireland much longer than 4 months and allow me to get another job while im thier to support myself. Even though his company has no operations in Ireland now is thier anything that can be done for him to get me some kind of longterm work permit thier. any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.
thankyou

Perhaps you can become a sole representative for his company, but I'm not sure that would give you any employment rights.
