Employment Status of Limited Company Directors

Post by mukesh.jain » Wed Jan 18, 2012 11:05 pm

Hi

I am a director and the only employee of a limited company.
Currently in the process of applying for ILR, need to know what status should I show for my employment - self employed or an employee of the company.

As far as I am aware, it should be an employee of the company. Can someone please let me know if this is indeed the case and point me to any documentary evidence on the UKBA website for the same.

Thanks

Under Part 6A of these Rules, "Self-Employed" means an applicant is registered as self-employed with HM Revenue & Customs, or is employed by a company of which the applicant is a controlling shareholder.
