TO ENCOURAGE HSMP (FLR) APPLICANTS

I just got my HSMP extension and wish to highlight my case to encourage other HSMP (FLR) applicants.

I got my HSMP approval in Sept 05 and my Entry clearance (one year) in Oct 05 without an interview in an African country. My dependants (one wife and four children) applied for entry clearance in Jan 06 but were refused. I however came to the UK in February 06 and earnestly started my job search. In March 06 i went back to my home country to conclude a business transaction and came back to the UK in June 06. In August 06, I handled my dependants appeal in the UK personally - when i was yet to get a job and was staying with an in-law - and the appeal was successful. My dependants were subsequently given entry clearance. Meanwhile my extension was due and i was given a one-year extension in Oct 06 due to LIMITED ECONOMIC ACTIVITY.

In December 06, i went back to my home country and came back in early February 07 and my dependants joined me two weeks after. Upon return i strategised to apply under the transitional arrangements for sellf-employed persons and set about satisfying the requirements - incorporating of accounts, etc. I started operations May 07.

I applied for extension again in October 07 and could score ony 35 points for qualification. I however attached the relevant docs for Transitional arrangements
- registration with Company house
-registration for tax
-Invoices - about 12
- contract papers - 2
-utility bill (telephone) - i converted my resiential line to a business
-proof of undergraduate course in english
- Management report (draft)
- Business plan and projection
- Company account
- Personal account - to show that i did not have access to public funds and my account had a healthy turnover.

I prepared all the documentation myself - i have a finance background.
i could not claim for income and age - i graduated over 20 years ago and my income was lower than specified.

The approval for all of us (my dependants and i) was received a few days ago until Oct 2010.

I tank God ffor his favours and wish to encourage especially pre-Nov 06 applicants for HSMP (FLR) that it is well IN JESUS' NAME.

your story is very inspiring.

You were really diligent and thorough and I think the caseworker recognizes when people make a great effort to do it right even if the deck is stacked against them, it shows you have strength of character and preserverance and that is worth something.
