hi people im david, im new to this forum , im 1 8in feburary and want to emeigrate to lile in france as im sick of this country at the moment and havnt had the best life in it, so i want a fresh start, i have done a lot of research into it and have chosen the city of lille as my destination, i was reading last night that as i live in the E.U i can go and live in france a lot easier than for example america etc and that i am entitled to work there to i wil save enough for some rent on a small apartment until i find a job i just need to take my self there nothing else, so what do i have to do lol

You probably have to be more clear, e.g. in which country you are currently, what nationality you are and what your current immigration status is.

I am sure then somebody will be able to give you directions.

lol well I did fail English. i live in north Yorkshire, England , what is immigration status?. I am British in nationality.

You can just go mate, no formalities from this end but you may well have to register at the local Marie (Town Hall) in Lille, most EU states require this for everyone.

Other than that, u'll need a job, and you'll need French to a decent level - unlikely u'll get a job without speaking the lingo.

If I could be so bold as to go into mommy mode. I suggest that you learn a bit of the language and save a bit of money before you venture out into the unknown. Do you have a place to hang your hat? Do you have a game plan at all or just wish to get the heck out of dodge? Im playing devils advocate here just to make you think about how to be successful on your new life. France has a beautiful lifestyle, but no matter where you go, if you don't have a plan, it can be bumpy and you might not enjoy things as much as you would with foresight.
I wish you the best life in France if this is where you end up.

i appreciate what your saying and i will think more, but at least with france it isnt to far from lovely england, i can speak a bit of french enough to have basic conversations and i have looked into it a lto and discussed it with the parentals and rest of family, do ihave to be 18 then im guessing?

I think you need to ask yourself what you are running away from. I've lived in some places and to be honest, the UK isn't such a bad place, and I'm it's number one critic...

You find yourself not knowing how to pay bills, not knowing you should registered for XYZ, finding out everywhere else in Europe doesn't have Cashback and the banks are still closed at lunchtime like they did here 15 years ago. Frustrates you 24/7!

yes but do i have to be 18 ???? i like england as place its really nice its just the people that live in it chavs mainly, most people in this country are twats, like you cant evevn go t otown these days without something happenin, like the other day me and my mate were browsing some shops and then this chicken turns round , most probably drunk and goes..,no joke"you what dicked!!", then mutters il f***in bray him to his "bird", n and its like that in england pretty much everywhere near cities and i like being near a town/city so rural isnt my thing and ye si know france is rural btu there are cites there to which i want to live in.
