English Requirement

Post by hotmale » Sun May 12, 2019 11:16 pm

This might be a daft question however my wife is going to applying for British citizenship and she meets most of the requirements however not sure about English language.

She is a secondary school teacher here, completed her PGCE in 2014 (post graduate certification in education) from de-montfort university. Her Bachelor and masters are from India.Does she still need a Naric statement?

Thanks

NARIC ELA (Red Route) or B1 level English from a test on the HO approved list + Life in the UK are required.

NARIC and the B1 test are both £150

Edit: As the PGCE is higher than a Bachelors degree, your wife should be exempt. Wait for others to confirm (when they wake up  )

I would expect if she was accepted as a secondary school teacher here in the UK, her English qualification is probably more than what's required, unless she's a volunteer teacher or something. Also can you confirm how did she got her ILR in terms of language requirements?
