Entering as Visitor after Refusal of Settement

Post by sterap » Mon Oct 05, 2015 6:53 pm

My Wife has just been refused entry clearance for settlement. Putting aside the logic of this decision, I have a question.

She is from the Caribbean and therefore does not require a tourist Visa, and under normal circumstances would be able to enter for up to six months. In anticipation of receiving a positive settlement decision she has a return ticket booked to arrive in the UK on Oct 16th, and returning to the Caribbean in March.

Can anyone advise whether UK immigration will give her a hard time entering as a tourist based on the fact that she has just been declined settlement?

Any advice gratefully received
Thanks in advance
Steve

Unfortunately they may well do as the Settlement visa refusal will flag up on the system. Although you may not have time now, it would be advisable to apply for a visitor visa before travelling.
