Entry for dependants

Post by guest 000 » Wed Jun 30, 2004 1:34 pm

will really like to know if dependants can enter into the country after the main applicant has received his 3 yr. extension and will they be issued 3 yr stay as well. Or do they have to come in within one year of the main applicant receiving the approval.

Dependents can apply to enter the UK at any time during the validity of your visa be it the initial 1 year or the extended 3 years. Any dependent visa issued will be to the remaining validity of your visa. An exception to this is where you obtained additional points from your partner/ spouse - they must join you in year 1 as their absence will be noted at renewal stage. General consensus is that whilst renewal is subject to the principal applicant's economic activity where this has has been poor/ failed the HSMP Team may be more considerate where a partner is in the UK to assist you accordingly say through their own employment providing funds for your maintanance and accomodation.
